Hell is really dark, was Virus's first thought. He woke up to absolute nothingness. He even tried opening his eyes once more, maybe they were still closed--but nope. Walls of black suffocated him from every direction.
Then his sight adjusted, and his previous thoughts sounded silly. It was simply nighttime.
"Goddamnit," he croaked. His throat felt stuffed and completely dry at the same time, and the pain from speaking made him aware of this impossible fact: Virus had lived.
Virus was lying in an empty hospital room. He had no idea how much time had passed--could it still be the same night? It felt like he had been out cold for a good while.
But, most importantly, who had brought him there?
Was it possible that someone'd found him in his apartment? He did not keep contact with his family and his attachments were generally scarce.
