OK, there is so much to say about ALL of this WITHOUT even mentioning the story. The artstyle, that without a doubt must be quite time-consuming, is just so hypnotising that it feels like a fever dream. I am literally just going over the chapters over and over again because I can feel myself just gazing at the drawings, at every stroke and colour used, at every single detail. Can we please talk about the droplet lensing?? Because I've never seen someone dare to undergo the complicated journey of replicating the effect by hand AND in such a beautiful way 🛐🛐🛐
Kosuke is a Japanese student who is chosen to represent his hometown school in the United States. He expects to do what he was asked - compete in track running and keep his nose in the books, as far away from social life as physically possible. What he doesn’t expect is to be dragged into a friend group with Elias, who forces Kosuke to take a glimpse at something that should have stayed hidden away.
