Soul Stasis -Arc 1- "Aphrodite"

SS - |Ep 7, Part 2| - "Waking To A New Day"

SS - |Ep 7, Part 2| - "Waking To A New Day"

Jan 14, 2026

Alex slept in his bed comfortably. He'd read his fill the night before and studied a broad amount of text from a book about geometrical shapes, calculations of trigonometry and even put together a very small diorama in an architectural drawing. Rubbing his head and getting up, he notices the mess. He remembers making it but doesn't know why. He didn't know what he wanted to invent but there were scribbles on a paper not far from that one. In his handwriting, a morse-like scripture revealed itself. Shapes had been centered around it in runic sequence.

First, a sphere. Second, a Digon which looked like a simple two-point leaf. From there it added vertices. More geometrical shapes than he'd ever thought about before appeared on a paper 'he' drew and wrote on. A sequence he remembers the thought of, the noise of... not the pattern. He heard it instead of thought of a sentence. It was a half-scream. It turned into a code of numbers and vanished in his mind. Someone or... some 'thing' was telling him something. The universe felt like it was alive. God? No... it can't be, that's ridiculous... Alex never believed in a god. He didn't go to church, never had religion. He wouldn't start here. This? This was... insanity.

Alex threw all of the papers he drew on, the things he wrote, into a box. Burning them was also ridiculous. He wanted to understand these writings but in secret. Nobody was to know, not his parents, his friend. Nobody. This was a personal project. The invention, of course, he'd allow his friend to help him. He just wouldn't be able to look at the schematics. He'll just be the tool bearer. "Torv..." Alex says under his breath.

A small pebble hits his paned window. He looks up, jumping out of his skin a moment. He walks toward where it hit and another one smacks it. He gets on top of his desk. The light shines through the tops of the buildings and he finds it's almost time to go to school. He sees nobody down below. Confusing, who would be right there bothering him of all people? Nobody knows him. Only Torvald does. Would it be...? He shuffles down the stairs after dressing himself up. He wore a nice, dark coffee-brown vestiment underneath. A damask design curled and embroidered into it, a deep golden caramel sinew of thread. A loose-fitted and frilled blouse gave it flair. He wore a navy blue coat with bronzed buttons and blue gemstones set within them. Pinstriped darker blue chinos and a nice pair of cobalt oxfords with the same bronze metal clipped across in the form of diamond shaped tassles on each. The same shape could be described for the cufflinks worn as well. A single brooch was set atop a ruff to top off the look. A smooth, and vibrant, aqua stone lay inset upon the centerpiece.

After he was done getting to the bottom of the stairs, before he could take his breakfast and leave, Frederick said "Wait! Wait just a moment, son." He took out a very valuable looking pocketwatch. A dark golden touch to the casing resonated with the vivid blue face that switched between a dark and bright flair of color in the sunlight. "Don't forget your old man's treasure. So in a hurry..." He curls it in Alex's palm and holds it tight. "Take time in life, ok, son? Be careful." Alex looked up at him and gave a slight grin. "I am careful. I'm just tired. Wish I could get everything done I need to... in a single day" Alex wanders his sight away. "But." He looks back. "I'm not gonna be a kid anymore. I'll be ok" Frederick gets up, adjusts his collar, and puts his hands in his suit's pockets and gives a sigh. "I count on you to make the right choice, little blue bird."

After his dad has told him wisdom, he turns around to walk outside when he sees a girl his age. Pale skin, dark dark hair. Not black hair but a very deep purple. So deep you could reach your hand in and it'll never come back. She smiled ever so... eerily, her eyes widened, vivid. Alex closed the door slowly behind him, still watching her with steady motion. He steps down each stair as if it were eggshells. As he goes beyond his house's block, he starts walking a bit faster. The girl starts to follow in confusion and catches up to him with ease. "wacha doin'?" Alex pauses and looks at her in the middle of the cobblestone road. "I'm... going to college... aren't you?" The girl stares a bit, pondering. "No. I don't know what college is." She was dressed in the form of attire he wore. He knew she had the expenses to attend a class at his school. Hell, even Torvald can attend and he doesn't wear this kind of stuff. He is lower class, he made sure he could attend because they're friends and he really needs the benefit of the learning... just like all the others.

The girl tells Alex her name. "I'm Neph" Alex glares at her after spacing out about his friend's problems. "Uhm... that's an odd name." He shifts his sights down the road where he has to be. The girl gets in his face "So what's your name?" Alex flinches and starts slowly walking, the girl close behind him. "I have to be at school..." Neph, ignorantly, says she wants to walk with him anyway. Hesitantly with some stutter, Alex speaks, "I-I'm ... Alexander."

Neph has sparkles in her slightly slitted-pupil eyes. They start becoming more seen through her hair strands; Her very straight hair strands that go all the way down to her back calves. Alex is blushing faintly from his admirer. She wore an odd outfit. It wasn't 'fancy' but also wasn't a poor person's outfit with tatters. She wore something that looked not of this world. A wrap was draped over her but a small dress was underneath. A gown sort of like what you'd wear in-house but more casual. The wrap was of highly sought after silk and thin, while her dress was a dark grey. She wore no shoes... Instead, she had anklets and bracelets made from high-grade bone. "Of what, exactly, did the bone come from?" Alex thought... There were also points sticking out of the front of her skull... a demon? No that can't be real...

As time went on in Alexander's mind, a memory of the past, The group outside of this sanctum, in reality, were watching Zyphon clasp onto Alex, trying to fix whatever was happening.

"Subject: Alexander

Status: Nominal

Result: No repair needed."

Zyphon tilted up and down on the matter. "Alex does not need help. Perfectly fine in every way. Does not need any further assistance." Akhmin grunts with a growl, "Then what is with the seizure earlier??" Zyphon repeats itself. Akhmin has had it at this point. It's been an hour since he saw Alex having a spazz attack and this isn't going anywhere. If he's fine, then where is he? What is happening in there? Seff asked him something, "Uhm... vathi, should we wake him? Maybe he's asleep..." Akhmin has already pondered this, it's a terrible idea to him. What if he's in some wierd stasis where he needs to have a full reset or something? The Chiro had certain operation guidelines that people had to follow to fix anything back in the day. Those guidelines were made by the people who didn't even make the things... they just studied them over time and tried to make them serve better and live a better life as mechanisms. With Alex... it's much worse than restarting a machine... this was a living being.

"No", Akhmin said. "We shouldn't tamper with Alex, this could end his life or something I just know it..." With an angry scowl, he puts his face in his palms, asking Nadha for another dish of mead, which he kindly pours in the face of worry.

A man wakes up on a planet of unknown origin. The plains of islands are filled with fungal plant life and winding, warped, sun-bleached trees with pink and bright orange leaves. Clusters of dazzling crystals hold these islands above the clouds, cutting off view from the darker trenches and chasms.

As he awakens, his skin is shown a very light salmon color from the light with cyan blue markings that glow and emit from small gaps in his skin. Before he's able to gain some sort of stability in both consciousness and mobility, a storm before him is approaching...
