Tale of A Rogue King

Tale #13: Train Me

Tale #13: Train Me

Jan 10, 2026

"Well, it was only a matter of time before this happened," Mother said, her voice steady but her eyes searching my pale face.

"What... happened?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper as the world slowly stopped spinning.

"Mana exhaustion," she said, helping me sit back on the gazebo bench.

"I see"

Mana exhaustion... The State where The mage spends almost all of his mana. Since, mana is a type of energy. Naturally Exhausting it makes the body tired.

I also remember From MAS that, exhausting your mana regularly had high risk but also had a huge benefit.

The more you empty your Mana pool The more the pool grows and the more mana, you can store in your body.

"You should Rest for today and recover your mana" Mother said.

"Yes" I said.

"Mary, Take Tyler to his room" Mother commanded Mary.

"Yes Madam" She obeyed With a bow

I got up and went to my room with Mary after saying my final good byes to my mother.

****

I watched with a small, lingering smile as my little Tyler was led away. Once he was out of sight, I turned back to the garden.

The scene was chaotic. The wooden target was charred and smoking; the ancient tree bore a deep, clean scar; the ground was snaked with cracks, and a single, vibrant plant stood taller and greener than the rest of its row.

These are the marks left by a single, six-year-old, first-time mage, I thought, a shiver running down my spine.

Impressive.

I hadn't praised him too much—I didn't want him to become arrogant or draw the wrong kind of attention. In truth, what he had done was beyond amazing.

Each spell hadn't been the clumsy, erratic spark of a beginner; they had the focus and density of a mage who had trained for weeks. Not to mention...

'Seven Elements...'

Tyler tried Seven different elements and succeed in all of them. Which means, This Is not his limit yet.

Null is a given.

Time element is useless.

Since, he is our son. Having talent is a given but this much ? A sudden realization hit me.

Could it be...

Tyler has That Skill. Its not impossible and it also explains his terrifyingly fast mana sensitivity, his multiple affinities, and the sheer power of his spells.

Good, With this, At least he can protect himself.

I looked at sky and remember the day he was born and held my fingers.

That's all i wish for you, Tyler, My precious Son.

****

*Achoo*

Sickness is pretty rare in this world. Is Someone missing me ? Is it Mother ?

I was laid on my bed, Resting.

I could feel my Mana pool replenishing bit by bit.

It was awesome.

I knew theoretically that my [GENIUS OF MAGIC] skill would allow me to use all elements, but knowing it and experiencing it were two vastly different things.

Although it was just seven elements and i Have not even tried the other elements.

But Somehow I know. I know I can use The other elements as well.

The rest of the day was as usual. At night, before dinner i insisted on practising magic a bit more but Mother declined my request and urged me to rest.

After dinner i quietly went to my room but before that I ordered Mary to bring

Something.

"Mary," I whispered once we were back in my quarters. "Bring a water bucket. The largest one you can find. And don't let anyone see you."

"Your Highness? Why do you—"

"Just do it."

I know Mother will know it anyways but Still...

After I Got The bucket, I used water ball to fill it up, Like a certain blond MC from a certain popular Isekai Anime or Manga.

I practiced water Magic until i felt The effects of Mana exhaustion In my body.

Then, I went to bed to get a good night sleep. As i mentioned before Sleep is Very Very important for a growing child.

'Today was Magic, Tomorrow will be Martial arts'

The Next Day...

I am on my way to meet mother. After Yesterday's Failure I have learned that reading books and following instructions alone is not enough.

I also need someone to guide me, Like my mother did for me in magic, yesterday.

I reached at garden where mother was, as usual.

"Tyler, do you want to practice magic again today" Mother asked.

I showed the books of martial arts and said "No, Today I wanna practice Martial Arts."

"Martial arts.. huh. Unfortunately, I can not help you with that" she said with a disappointed look.

"I know," I replied, keeping my tone pragmatic. "I want you to suggest someone to me. A professional who can guide my form."

"Hmm... in that case, why not ask the Palace Guard Captain? He is the most qualified swordsman within these walls." She leaned over and whispered a few words to her personal maid, Hilda.

The captain huh...

Each Palace in Royal Complex Had its own dedicated Guarding Squad.

of course, The Arbutus Palace also had its own Squad and the Captain of that squad was Harry La Baek.

In our kingdom, Last name was something only Nobles and some chosen Knights have.

Middle name is something only legitimate members of noble families have. Illegitimate children are not allowed have a middle name unless allowed by the Family head.

So, Middle names correspond to their family level.

Von= Royal, Grand Duke, Duke

La= Marquis, Count, Viscount

De= Baronet, Baron

Harry carried the name "La". he was likely the second son of a high-ranking Marquis. A man with a pedigree, but not one in line for an inheritance—the perfect profile for a career soldier.

A few minutes later, the sound of rhythmic, heavy plate-mail echoed against the stone path. A man with short-cropped blonde hair and piercing blue eyes emerged. He didn't just walk; he moved with the balanced, predatory grace of a veteran.

He came to a halt before the gazebo and knelt on one knee, his right hand flat against his chest armor.

'A perfect candidate'

"I am at your service, Your Majesty," he greeted Mother with the deep, resonant voice of a commander. Then, he shifted his gaze to me, offering a slight, respectful bow of his head. "Your Highness."

"Arbutus Squad Captain Baek," Mother said, her voice smooth and carrying the effortless authority of her station. "My son would like to ask you something."

Harry shifted his weight, the metal plates of his greaves clinking softly against each other. He turned his full attention toward me, his blue eyes disciplined but clouded with a faint, polite confusion.

To him, I was likely just a royal child about to ask for a story or perhaps a wooden toy from the barracks.

"Yes? Your Highness?" he asked, his voice low and patient.

I didn't stay seated. I stood up, moving away from seat until I stood directly in front of the kneeling giant. I was so short that even while he was on one knee, we were nearly eye-to-eye.

"Train me" I said.

"Yes?" He said in bewilderment

Truck-kun isekaied me ? Good
I am the third prince and the villainous mob in my RPG game ? Good
my mother is a baronet and possess a countryside land where I can lead a slow life ? Very good

So, I should just quietly cultivate some magic cabbages and live a quite slow life like typical transmigrated MCs.... Like hell I would do that!!!

Since I have been given a second chance and that too, As a fucking prince, Shouldn't I become the king ...or at least die trying ?
