Tale of A Rogue King

Tale #14: The Training Begins Again

Tale #14: The Training Begins Again

Jan 10, 2026

"Excuse me?" Harry asked, the words barely audible.

The silence that followed was absolute. A breeze drifted through the garden, rustling the Arbutus leaves, but no one moved.

Mary, standing behind me, let out a tiny, stifled gasp. Even the birds seemed to have stopped chirping, shocked into silence by the audacity of a six-year-old.

That’s probably just my imagination, right? I thought. The birds don't care about royal protocol.

"Yes?" Harry breathed again, the word escaping him more like a confused exhale than a question.

His brow furrowed, his brain clearly struggling to reconcile my age with the absolute gravity of my tone.

"Forgive me, Your Highness... I believe I misheard you just now. You wish to... watch the drills, maybe? Or perhaps you'd like a wooden sword to play—"

"You heard me correctly, Captain. I didn't ask for a toy," I interrupted

my voice cutting through his polite hedging like a blade. "And I didn't ask to watch. I told you to train me. In the sword. In the basics of the Regulus style. Starting now."

I could see the gears turning behind Harry’s eyes. He looked toward my mother, his expression a silent plea for her to tell him this was a joke.

But Mother merely sat back, lifting her teacup to her lips with a faint, enigmatic smile. She wasn't going to bail him out.

Honestly, I understand his situation.

Imagine A six years old coming to you and say 'Brother, I want you to teach me riding a Motorcycle'

Of course, You would think, You misheard Him, right? Maybe, He meant to go on a bike ride or maybe meant Learning to ride a bicycle.

Alas, That was not the case here and Harry heard me correctly.

Harry looked back at me. He saw my small, uncalloused hands and my delicate frame.

Hmm... Seems like he won't accept easily. Gotta give him a push.

I looked at my mother who was busy sipping on tea.

Seems like she has no intention of helping me to Convince him.

That's Good, actually. I prefer it this way. It would make me happier If he teaches me not because of a Royal order but because I convinced him to do so, On my own.

"Sign.. Relax, Captain Harry" I consoled him.

"I doubt anyone would be relaxed in this Situation, Highness" He said Unexpectedly.

"Hmm ?"

"Nothing!" He said

A straightforward and blunt Guy.. huh. I like it.

"I am not telling you to turn me into a veteran or Sword Master in a week or something." I said

He stared at me, his blue eyes narrowing.

I continued "I just want a mentor to guide me while I am wielding The sword for the first time. After observing me A little If you Judge me to be Unworthy of sword I will Leave It"

"Are you Certain ?" He asked

"Yes. If that happens I will Just come back to you after ...maybe four years ? And Nobody will blame you even if I have a few scratches, Not My mother and certainly not me"

"And..." I said "I won't cry. So are you still not Convinced ?"

Finally, the Captain let out a long, heavy sigh and stood up to his full height. He towered over me, a wall of polished plate armor and muscle.

He looked at my mother, his expression still searching for an out "Your Majesty...."

"I am comfortable with it, Captain," Mother said, her voice like silk. "As long as there is no heavy damage, you have my blessing.".

"Sign.. Alright" He looked at me.

A pair of Blue eyes and a pair of amethyst eyes met.

"I will take your word for it. Let's start" he said.

"Excellent" Mother clapped her hands together "Hilda! Bring it"

Hilda brought two wooden swords. One was a standard length for an adult; the other was a short, weighted training sword designed for a child.

She is always ready for everything huh.

"You can use these." Mother said

I stepped forward took the smaller one, testing the weight. It was heavier than it looked, balanced toward the tip to encourage follow-through.

"But your Majesty, I am here to just guide his stance and moves. I do not a need sword" Harry said.

"I know, but I just brought it ...just in case" she said

We moved to the center of the garden.

"Alright, we will now start" he said

I was holding the wooden sword in my hand.

Swordsmanship was not entirely new to me. Nick had trained in MMA and Kendo for three years, during his high school years.

That's why I had the skills [SWORDSMANSHIP (BEGINNER)] and [HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT (BEGINNER)]

Although Nick was considered to be pretty good in both arts, Compared to the combat levels of this world he was merely a beginner.

And I had also read the books taken from library.

"First, We will start from complete basics"

"yes, sir!"

"First and most important thing is stance. It is the foundation upon which every strike is built. Show me your stance"

Hilda set up a dummy in the lawn. I focus on it, gripped the hilt tightly and took my stance.

my [Genius of Martial Arts] trait seems to have been activated.

I didn't take the high, aggressive 'Lion’s Stance'. A stance favored by the Regulus Knights.

It required a heavy torso and thick legs. something that I do not have.

So, Instead, I sank into a deep, wide stance, keeping my center of mass as low as possible, according to my small body.

I aligned my lead foot directly toward the target, creating a straight Vector for force transmission.

By keeping my spine neutral and my weight distributed 60/40 on my rear leg, I turned my entire body into a loaded spring. I wasn't just standing; I was managing Potential Energy.

"Impressive, Your Stance is already perfect with nothing to correct" Harry Remarked.

"Is that so ?" I asked.

"Yes, and What’s even more remarkable is that you’ve optimized the principles of the Lion's Stance for a smaller body without losing the defensive integrity. How did you know about this stance ?" He said with enthusiasm.

"I read a book" I answered

"A book, huh?" He looked skeptical but didn't push. "Regardless, since the foundation is solid, let's move to the next step." He paused, his gaze intensifying.

He continued after a little silence "The second step, Sword Swing. Can you do it ?"

"Yes" I said with Confidence.

Since I am Already More than enough Familiar with Sword. My trait Allows me perform all this without much effort.

It's like I am just Regaining experiences, I once already had, bit by bit.

Truck-kun isekaied me ? Good
I am the third prince and the villainous mob in my RPG game ? Good
my mother is a baronet and possess a countryside land where I can lead a slow life ? Very good

So, I should just quietly cultivate some magic cabbages and live a quite slow life like typical transmigrated MCs.... Like hell I would do that!!!

Since I have been given a second chance and that too, As a fucking prince, Shouldn't I become the king ...or at least die trying ?
