Warning: There is mature content (albeit censored) in this section.
P16: Must be one heck of a power outage...
P17: And the eldritch abominations are back~
P18: Yup. Aisling & Firinne were there when Method was destroyed.
Her backstory was originally going to cover a skirmish against a single Nil in the middle of the woods. I decided to up the stakes and go all-out with the fights from the very first arc, in the process making Aisling an active participant in Heap's recent history. I can’t make a 400 chapter epic, so every battle has to be high-stakes and advance the plot and/or lore.
P19: Here’s my first ever Mature Content piece :P. Don't look if you aren't comfortable with blood/gore!
Going forward, there’s going to be a lot more horror and violence. I was originally going to create a separate, censored version for readers who don’t want to see the mature content, but I feel it wouldn’t really do the characters justice and would actually make some of them seem less capable than they really are. For Tapas, I might put a gradient over the goriest parts of the page.
To avoid spoilers, I’m going to use the same trigger warnings for all of the mature content pages in this arc. If you're not comfortable with the following themes, I recommend skipping any page that comes with these warnings.
Assassination
Blood (more than a liter)
Body horror
Death, dying, and dealing with grief
Depression
Gruesome injuries
Major character death
Mentions of human trafficking / experimentation
Mentions of suicide / self-harm
Post traumatic stress disorder
Note: This content is not intended to encourage or glorify violence and / or death. A central theme of my comic is the human impact of conflict and corruption and I intend to show, not just tell it.
Out of Memory follows Zhen Xinyi (真 心意), a pacifistic warrior with reality-warping powers. As an Imperial Prince of the highly-respected Kurosawa Royal family, Xinyi, who is publicly known as Kurosawa Makoto (黒澤 誠), must balance his duties to the Realm of Os and his perilous quest to find the truth about his family.
His acquaintances, whom both aid and hinder his search, include Aisling, a reforming thief who aspires to become a Collector, Yao, a mysterious prince from a rival Royal Family, and Gyoku, an influential politician who suspects him of ill intent.
