ALSO! lol, I messed up again: Obviously the Imperial Japanese army (with all its units and departments) was a real institution! The fiction comment applies to stuff that appears later in the comic, such as the various family businesses of the characters’ parents. Though with the army, even though sometimes specific departments may appear (history nerds will know which ones), they mostly won’t be mentioned by name or number. Any potentially offensive symbols will be creatively censored as well!
