Noah couldn’t remember the last time someone had touched him gently without asking for something in return.
They were still sitting on the couch. Nicholas hadn’t stopped holding him, and Noah could feel his warmth, his presence. The curtains remained closed, and the distant noise of the city filtered in muffled, as if the world had paused in that moment.
The silence wasn’t uncomfortable at all —it was expectant.
Noah slowly intertwined his fingers with Nicholas’s. The gesture was timid at first, almost exploratory, as if he were still waiting for a correction. Nicholas didn’t squeeze, didn’t take control of the movement —he wasn’t Sebastian. He simply left his hand there, open and warm.
That gesture —so small— lit something in Noah’s chest. A sensation he hadn’t fully allowed himself to consider before… desire.
They looked at each other. There was no urgency. No hunger disguised as affection. Just a mutual attention that sustained itself effortlessly. When they leaned in to kiss, it was slow, as if both wanted to be sure the other was really there.
The kiss was deeper than the previous ones, more passionate, but it didn’t lose its softness. It wasn’t an assault. Noah felt his breathing sync with Nicholas’s, felt his body stop anticipating harm and finally begin to trust.
They parted just enough to look at each other again.
And that was when something different appeared. Not just desire, but the need to share something more —something far more intimate than pleasure alone. Something that had nothing to do with possession, but with presence.
“If at any point you feel uncomfortable…” Nicholas began, his voice low and careful. “I can stop, or we can stay exactly where we are. Just tell me.”
Noah slowly shook his head. He wanted to continue.
“No,” he said. “I like… that you ask. I like that you’re not in a hurry.”
Nicholas’s smile was small, almost fragile. He moved a little closer. Noah felt the warmth of his body first, then the light brush of his knee. When Nicholas rested his hand over Noah’s, he didn’t close his fingers. He didn’t claim anything. He left it there, as if saying: I’m here, but you decide.
Noah closed his eyes.
That gesture loosened something in his chest that had been tense for far too long.
Nicholas tilted his head and rested his forehead against Noah’s, placed one hand in his hair, and the other gently at his waist. Their breathing met without either of them actively seeking it.
“I can stop,” he whispered. “Even now.”
Noah opened his eyes, smiling at his boyfriend, wrapping his arms around his waist.
“I’m going to be okay,” he replied. “I don’t want you to stop.”
The kiss that followed was unlike all the others. It didn’t advance right away —it simply deepened. Nicholas moved with almost reverent attention, attuned to every reaction, every subtle change in Noah’s breathing.
Noah responded with the same care. His fingers tangled in Nicholas’s shirt, not to pull him closer in urgency, but to make sure he was still there, that he wasn’t going to disappear.
And then, he hesitated for a second.
“Can I…?” he asked softly, barely touching the fabric. “Can I take it off?”
Nicholas looked at him with a softness that tightened Noah’s throat.
“Yes,” he answered. “Thank you for asking.”
That gratitude undid him more than any touch.
Noah removed the shirt slowly, as if each movement carried its own weight. He wasn’t undressing a body the way Sebastian would have without permission —he was crossing a boundary with respect, with an attention he had never been allowed to exercise before. His boyfriend’s back was perfect, beautiful in his eyes.
Nicholas guided the rest with the same patience. He undressed, then helped Noah remove each piece of clothing until they were both completely naked. Every gesture was announced, every step forward accompanied by a silent or explicit question.
Noah decided it would be better to go to the bedroom —they’d be more comfortable there. He took his boyfriend’s hand and they both went to the bed.
Once there, Nicholas asked again, to confirm what was about to happen.
“When you want me to stop, I will. If it hurts, don’t hesitate to tell me.”
Noah, lying back on the mattress, nodded, placing his hands on Nicholas’s cheeks.
“Yes. I will.”
His partner moved with calm firmness, holding Noah without invading him, making it clear with every touch that he could stop at any moment. He rested his elbows on the mattress so as not to press too much of his weight onto Noah’s body.
Noah timidly parted his legs and waited. Nicholas looked at his body with respect and, before entering carefully, moved slowly, gradually, attentive to every gesture or expression. Their bodies adjusted to each other’s rhythm, and his desire didn’t hurt.
When they needed to stop to breathe, Nicholas rested his forehead against Noah’s neck and stayed there, as if that place were enough on its own.
“No one had ever… touched me like this,” Noah whispered, his voice barely audible.
Nicholas lifted his head just enough to look at him.
“I’m glad… you feel that way,” he murmured.
Noah smiled, eyes damp. His partner kissed him again and began to move once more. They continued like that for several more minutes, a little more passionate, intensifying every sensation of pleasure.
“Ah, Nick,” Noah said between moans, feeling himself getting close.
Nicholas smiled faintly, resting his head against Noah’s shoulder. He was close too, and he held his boyfriend tighter, feeling himself reach his climax.
They finished almost at the same time, and when it happened, Nicholas didn’t pull away abruptly or in urgency. He moved slowly until he settled beside Noah, breathing with him until the trembling faded.
Noah closed his eyes, exhausted but calm, with the strange, new certainty of having been cared for even in desire. Nicholas slid a hand along his arm, lightly. Then they looked at each other. Noah caressed his cheek, smiling softly at his partner. They didn’t say anything else. It wasn’t necessary.
And moments later, exhausted, they decided to sleep.
