Can a vehicle's AI evolve from cold, logical reasoning to subjective thinking, and maybe human feeling?
When the antimatter-mining rover Promethean-1 crash-lands on a once-lush planet, its human crew is captured by a network of AI-powered machines spreading through the planet's veins.
Now inside a prison built by the machines, the Promethean-1 has to find a way out before it's dismantled by a powerful, intelligent enemy.
The problem: the machines may have extracted valuable data from the brains of the crew, including ship data and the way back to Earth. In which case, the Promethean-1 would have no choice but to kill the human prisoners rather than rescue them.
