After Morris departed, Albrecht wrapped Kaye in a quiet embrace. Her vision wavered, revealing a glimpse of the same boy from another world holding her.
The unease wasn’t caused by Albrecht’s arms, but by the memory itself. He could feel her thoughts, mirroring the vision, and frustration flared within him as she remained wide-eyed and shocked. Kaye silenced.
