A crowd of people filled the streets. Police 🚔 had arrived to investigate, but which case, you ask?
Zynex rushed upstairs to get a better view of the chaos outside. He froze.
“Isn’t that the two Atonix had ... last night , what happened to them?”
Guilt washed over Zynex. If he didn’t confess what he had seen, the police might never solve the case. The FBI had been called in, and suddenly, Zynex’s group felt the weight of consequences pressing down on them.
He went to his father, who was sitting on the sofa in the living room, and hesitated before speaking.
“Dad… let me ask you something,” Zynex said. “If someone dies, do we have to follow up on them?”
Blanki leaned forward.
“If no one acts, more chaos can happen,” he explained. “Whenever someone dies, it’s important to record what happened — how it happened, who was involved.”
He paused, then told Zynex a story. A boy once got into a fight with his father and caused his death. No one stepped in, no one cared. The boy learned that no one would stop him. Later, he went on to cause harm to an old man who had warned him. Again, nobody acted. By the time people noticed, it was too late.
“Whoa… that’s intense,” Zynex said. “Hope it’s not from a book.”
“What do you mean?” Blanki muttered.“It’s real. We think it might be the same person, he escaped just a few months ago.”
Zynex knew who it was. His friend Atonix. But would he confess the truth for his own good, or protect his friend and risk everything himself? Don't forget to subscribe to see Chapter 8
