This page is sort of a casualty of the pace at which I’m working. I might have actually had a great big panel with an overview of the marketplace, full of stalls, market goers and shop owners. Instead, I’ve kept the camera tight on Jack and the Farmer. Now, it’s not BAD, it’s just another way of presenting the action. But under different circumstances I might have gone the other way.
Which is part of a larger thing I’ve been thinking about which is what comes after Lazy Jack. I’ve got the next story I want to do in my mind, but I’d really like to have the time to do more design work, more sketching and planning. I actually grabbed some books and online images for reference, but I’ve not yet had a chance to put them to use. I’m also thinking about the overall look I’d like to have for my next story.
So, I don’t know. I really think the reliable weekly updates are important, but I can foresee a number of weeks where I can only share sketches and designs before I’m really ready to start actual pages. Not sure if this that’s better than nothing or not.
