Baking a Friendship

Sorry for the VERY long break between this episode and the last. I have been going crazy with finals week and then my graduation. Now this past week I have been trying to relax and start my next chapter in life. So here is a nice one about bread:
Sometimes, food can bring people together.
She had not spent time with a soul,
Wandering without a care to hold.
Lost in her life, this lonely girl had none to call her own.
Strolling down the paved avenue wishing she was not alone.
Down this street she walks, a boy opens a door.
Ring, Ring, it sings as he skips into his world’s core.
The sound of an oven’s crackle,
Scents of a cake baked with a touch of apple.
Deep in her mind, the lady walked on.
Somewhere, seemingly, she was drawn.
Lost in thought, the lone boy sang,
A cheery tune ‘til that bell rang.
Stepped in a face chiseled of stone,
Lured in by the bouquet the winds had blown.
Placing a cake on the shelf on high,
The boy looked on with a twinkle in his eye.
Passion for a common ground,
Conversation bloomed as if spellbound.
Hours long they talked,
Two souls unlocked.
