Anatomy & Physiology
Cyphora
Gland under the collarbone producing pheromones/scent and triggering reproductive organ formation in puberty and cycle regulation in adults. Removing the Cyphora in Alphas/Omegas causes severe health and emotional problems; safe only for Betas.
Glandular Cluster
Stem-cell pouch near the vaginal canal that forms reproductive organs under Cyphora’s direction during puberty. It is reabsorbed naturally in Betas.
Nasal Pheromone Processor (NPP)
Chemical receptor that detects pheromones and activates bonding behaviors in adults. NPP removal leads to an inability to pair, although all pairings made prior to removal are still valid. It is common for paired alphas to have their NPP removed to remove the risk of secondary pairings during ruts.
Stem Cell Infusion
Medical treatment to improve reproductive organ development by supplementing stem cells during puberty.
Scent
The recognizable smell of someone’s pheromones. Each Alpha and Omega have a unique scent, but can only be smelled by the opposite reproductive sex. (ie. Alphas can’t smell alphas and omegas can’t smell omegas.) The scent is unique to the individual and constantly produced.
Biology & Gender
Body gender
Determines physical traits at birth like height, fat distribution, chest and muscle structure, and voice depth. Identified through gene testing and independent of Reproductive gender. All children are born with a neutral vaginal canal with no reproductive organs attached.
Reproductive Gender
Developed during puberty based on Cyphora activation; includes Alpha, Beta, and Omega defining reproductive traits, cycles and social status. There is no concept of “matching genders”.
Alpha
Reproductive gender with penis and prostate formation, and rut cycles. Experience aggression and physical changes during puberty and rut. (20%)
Beta
Reproductive gender that never develops additional reproductive organs or pheromone activity; infertile and stable throughout life. They are the backbone of society and the dominant second gender. (48%)
Omega
Reproductive gender developing womb and ovaries, with heat cycles marked by strong breeding instincts and hormonal changes. (32%)
False Beta
A rare secondary status for Betas with malfunctioning Cyphora or NPP, causing them to have pseudo-heats or ruts, partially working NPPS and sometimes producing pheromones. They still lack reproductive organs and were considered a mental disorder until the 2050s. (0.001%)
Delta
A rare tertiary status for Alphas or Omegas with malfunctioning Cyphora or NPP, causing infrequent but intense heat/rut cycles and unique health risks. Due to rarity, deltas are not widely known about, (0.001%)
Reproductive Cycles & Behavior
Heat (Omega)
Two-week cycle every 5-6 months (unpaired), involving intense breeding drive, mental fog, and physical signs like purple eyes and nuzzling (cuddling up to objects or people). Failure to have sex with an alpha can lead to permanent brain fog.
Rut (Alpha)
Two-week cycle every 3-4 months (unpaired), involving increased aggression, sexual focus, and physical signs like gold eyes and scrunching (humping objects). Failure to have sex with an omega can lead to heart failure.
Alpha Voice/Omega Whine
Once an alpha/omega’s cycles start, alphas gain the ability to drop their voice into a lower register that acts similar to a command. Both alphas and omegas can hear this shift and feel pushed to obey what the alpha says. For omegas, they get a higher register, and it pushes only alphas to do what the omega says.
Marking
Bonding process triggered by pairing, producing visible marks through NPP activation. Marks are made of scar tissue.
Pairing
Bond formation between Alphas and Omegas through pheromone interaction and marking, synchronizing reproductive cycles to once per year. Omegas can only pair to one alpha, while an Alpha can pair to multiple omegas. Can only be initiated by an alpha in rut.
Pheromones
Chemical signals from the Cyphora that induce reproductive behaviors, bonding, and heat/rut cycles.
Social Structure & Support Systems
Cycle Booths
Facilities used to manage heats and ruts through pheromone exposure and masturbation without full physical contact. Booths are divided to prevent touch while allowing scent transfer. Appointments are booked directly with the facility and there are different tiers based on how much one can pay.
Delta Booths
Specialized government-run booths for deltas. Deltas are restrained and assisted by medical staff to prevent fatal complications during cycles. Release is scheduled at fixed intervals due to medical necessity.
High-Class Marriage
Marriage among elites is arranged to preserve status and manage reproduction. Pairing and marriage are treated as separate processes.
Contract Alpha / Contract Omega
An alpha or omega selected solely to facilitate pairing and reproduction for a beta-led marriage. They hold no legal, social, or parental claim beyond contracted cycle visits.
Separated Pair
A paired alpha and omega who remain biologically bonded but do not maintain a public or domestic relationship. Discovery carries severe social and professional consequences.
Employment Status
Betas and paired alphas or omegas are eligible for full-time employment. Unpaired alphas and omegas are restricted to contract work and are expected to manage cycles outside work hours.
Slang
Sang-omega
An omega married into a high-class beta household.
Sang-alpha
An alpha married into a high-class beta household.
Bang-omega
An omega under reproductive contract for a beta/alpha marriage.
Bang-alpha
An alpha under reproductive contract for a beta/omega marriage.
Boeseok
Alphas/Omegas timing their booth appointments in order to hook up
Gidae
Omega/Omega couple
Gyeop
Alpha/Alpha couple
Samhap
Alpha/Omega/Beta couples
Bigyeol
An alpha and omega who are emotionally involved without formal pairing. Strongly implies secrecy and reputational danger.
Jeonghwa
The lucid window following release during heat or rut. Used medically and socially.
Sunhwan
The period during puberty between Cyphora activation and full organ formation.
Dolchul
Alpha slang for genital formation.
Hwachul
Omega slang for womb and ovary formation.
Heugal
Derogatory term for an alpha who pairs with multiple omegas for money, favors, or leverage. Implies moral rot rather than prestige.
Loss of pheromone production due to age; marks the permanent end of heats or ruts.
