And yeah, there's this saying that if you keep a horse chestnut in your pocket, it prevents you from illnesses and rheumatism. It's a belief passed down by the elderly here in Italy, but also heard it in some places in France.
And sorry for next week. I wanted to introduce one of the main on Valentine's, but my wrist started to hurt for overworking it. So I need to rest it as much as possible before I leave for next week's con.

Aw, I love this tradition! In Switzerland we also have lots of horse chestnut trees in all cities and in my family we always collected horse chestnuts in the fall and kept them in our coat pockets. I don't think it was meant to protect from colds or anything. But to me it always helped with stress relief - fresh horse chestnuts have a very smooth surface that feels particularly nice to hold in your hands inside your pockets.
