Chapter Six: Yan Luowei(part 2)

Chapter Six: Yan Luowei(part 2)

Feb 15, 2026

Since both the Yan family and the Haruwa family had been attacked, it was only natural that the third of the Great Three Families — the Hayes family, descendants of the God of Terra — would not be spared.

Inside a convenience store, merchandise lay scattered across the floor, and the glass entrance door was shattered. Though the scene looked disastrous, fortunately, no one was injured.

A man with his chin slightly raised and an air of arrogance looked down at the fallen attackers and scoffed.

“How bold of them — daring to provoke even the younger brother of the Hayes family head.”

He was Roland Hayes, younger brother of the newly appointed Hayes family head, Anastasia Hayes.

Standing beside him was his assistant, Angus Sullivan.

“It’s obvious. They knew exactly who you were.”

“Indeed. Their target was clearly me.” Rolande nodded. The attackers hadn’t even glanced at the clerks or customers. There was no way they didn’t know his identity.

“Or maybe it’s because you just look punchable.” Angus replied.

Rolande slowly turned his head. “This month’s salary…”

“I mean I look punchable. It has absolutely nothing to do with you!” Angus corrected himself instantly.

The store clerk and customers, who had been crouching on the floor for cover, gradually stood up once the attackers were subdued.

“Thank you, sir,” the clerk said.

“No. This happened because of me. Have you called the police?”

“I just did,” a customer raised a hand.

Rolande nodded. “I need to return to the hotel and check on my sister.”

He strode out of the store. Angus followed behind, muttering quietly, “The family head wouldn’t possibly be in danger…”

“The targets are concentrated on the Great Three Families. Other factions only faced scattered attacks.”

In the living room, Yan Luowei reviewed the incoming reports.

“It’s the Anti-Affinity Group, isn’t it? They can’t wait to see the Great Three Families dead.”

The Anti-Affinity Group — as the name suggests — was formed by those without abilities. Originally, their purpose had been to combat Affinity Users who abused their powers. But for reasons unknown, they gradually came to hate all Affinity Users and began attacking even the innocent.

Recently, however, a small number of Affinity Users had joined the Anti-Affinity Group.

But if they hated Affinity Users, why accept them?

Because their target had shifted — or rather, narrowed — to a smaller group: the Great Three Families.

No one knew the reason behind this change. But one thing was certain — someone, or some force, was deliberately guiding it from the shadows.

“Not ‘should be.’ It’s definite.” Yan Yining stepped in first.

“We saw their emblem.” Yan Yuhuai followed.

“Some organizations just love putting obvious marks on their members. As if they can’t wait for the whole world to know it was them.” Yan Yining shrugged.

“Isn’t that normal? The Anti-Affinity Group has never hidden their hatred for Affinity Users. Correction — now it’s the Great Three Families.”

Yan Luowei looked at them. “How many times have I said it? Knock before entering.”

“Teacher, after all these years, do we still need formalities?” Yan Yining dropped onto the sofa.

“Such disrespect.” There was faint amusement in Yan Luowei’s eyes. She did not truly mind.

Knock, knock.

“Teacher, I knocked. I’m coming in.”

It was a voice Yan Luowei knew well.

She froze for a moment before turning toward the door. A young woman pushed it open and stepped inside.

She had changed significantly. A mere passing glance might not have been enough to recognize her.

“Yin… Mo Ying. That’s your name now, correct?” Yan Luowei’s voice trembled slightly.

“Yes, Teacher. Long time no see.”

“Good. Very good. I’m glad to see you again, my outstanding student.” Yan Luowei’s eyes reddened as she nodded with a smile.

This reunion was far more touching than the others, Yan Yuhuai thought.

They took seats on the sofa. Yan Yining spoke first.

“Half a year ago, when I suddenly received an unknown call and realized it was you, I was shocked.”

“Not pleasantly surprised?” Mo Ying rested her chin on her hand. “Honestly, I was surprised that you formed your own faction.”

She could pursue revenge against all those responsible on her own. But having allies was far more convenient. And her objective went beyond mere revenge.

She had originally intended to seek out those already dissatisfied with the Yan family’s current leadership. Unexpectedly, they had formed their own organization.

That saved her quite a bit of trouble.

In an era where the gods have vanished, Affinity Users have become the rulers of the world.

Mo Ying, a descendant of the gods, lost everything four years ago in an explosion and a web of conspiracies.

Four years later, she returns to her hometown to take part in a grand event attended by all major factions.

Yet beneath the celebration lies a crisis that threatens everyone’s lives—one that is also tied to the incident from four years ago.

“Perfect. I’ll take care of revenge and resolve the crisis at the same time.” Mo Ying, now far stronger than before, remains utterly unshaken.

At the same time, her ex-boyfriend—the one who once pushed her into the abyss—asks timidly, “Are you going to kill me?”

Having just dealt with several of her enemies, Mo Ying smiles.

“That depends on my mood.”
