The crashing waters hit the land.

The rolling thunder disrupts the sky.

A heavy downpour meets the earth.

A bustling wind shakes the trees.

The little house shudders in the middle of the storm

Creaking and moaning in distress.

When suddenly, like a curtain being drawn,

The sky becomes calm.

Quiet!

Can you hear it?

The water settles, the thunder fades, 

The earth is silent, the trees tranquil.

 

There is null a sound in the air.

Not the pitter-patter of the rain,

nor the rumble of the storm

Not even a rustle of the leaves.

 

A promise shines across the lake.

Red, orange, yellow hit the earth.

As the sun streaks through gray clouds.

Then the birds sing their songs again.

 

The little house reflected in the water

Sitting there as happy as can be.

Basking in the warmth of sunshine on its face.
