Parasites have existed within the human body for generations. Some are inherited. Some appear without explanation. Those who carry them are called hosts, and society does not know whether to fear them or use them.

To maintain order, institutions were built to monitor and train young hosts before their strains become unstable. Tsukishiro Academy is one of them. Behind its gates, students learn control, containment, and survival. They are taught how to live with something that feeds on their bodies and emotions, and how to prevent themselves from becoming a threat.

Ankyo enters the academy as a first year host struggling with a volatile blood strain. Around her are classmates with their own unstable abilities, senior students hardened by field patrols, and instructors who understand that stability is not guaranteed. Outside the academy walls, civilians distrust hosts while government forces treat them as weapons. In the shadows, other groups move with different intentions.

As incidents begin to surface and the boundary between human and parasite grows thinner, it becomes clear that this world was not built to protect hosts.

It was built to control them.
