Katsuki stayed beside him, curled under the blankets like he belonged there—like he had never left at all. Izuku lay on his side, watching the soft glow around him pulse gently with every breath.
It felt unreal.
It felt perfect.
A quiet creak sounded from the hallway, followed by soft footsteps. The bedroom door opened just a crack.
Mina peeked in—and froze.
Her eyes widened, her hand flying to her mouth as she gasped. “K‑Katsuki…?”
Izuku sat up, smiling through the tears still drying on his cheeks. “He’s here, Mina.”
Katsuki pushed himself up on one elbow, wings fluttering faintly. “Hey, raccoon eyes.”
Mina blinked hard, tears gathering instantly. She stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind her so she wouldn’t wake the others. “You… you made it to heaven, Katsuki.”
Katsuki nodded once, a small, proud smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah. Took me long enough.”
Izuku laughed softly, the sound warm and breathless. He reached behind him, grabbing the bouquet of blue baby dragon’s breath he’d brought home from the party. The petals glowed faintly in the angelic light.
He held it out to Katsuki.
“For you,” Izuku whispered.
Katsuki took the bouquet gently, fingers brushing Izuku’s. His expression softened in a way that made Mina wipe her eyes.
Izuku reached again, this time pulling out the small, worn paper ring—the one he’d made years ago, the one Katsuki had kept safe until the end. The edges were soft, the fold lines faded from being held too often.
Izuku placed it in Katsuki’s hand.
“The least I could do,” he murmured, voice trembling with affection. “Prince charming.”
He lifted Katsuki’s hand and pressed a soft kiss to his knuckles.
Katsuki’s breath hitched.
His wings fluttered.
His glow brightened.
Mina covered her mouth again, tears spilling freely. “You two… you’re unbelievable.”
Katsuki didn’t look away from Izuku. “He’s mine,” he said softly. “Always was.”
Izuku leaned forward, resting his forehead against Katsuki’s. “And I always will be.”
Katsuki closed his eyes, soaking in the warmth of the moment, the love he’d carried with him even into death.
Izuku wrapped his arms around him again, pulling him close, holding him like he’d never let go.
And for that night—just that night—Katsuki stayed.
Warm.
Real.
Loved.
