Firstly - I named this comic at the start of this week when I had more brain cells to share, and have since become so brainfoggy from these damn doctor calls (3) that I no longer feel confident with the title but go with it anyway. Sorry if it doesnt make sense. (:
Secondly - the topic at hand. Built-in ineccessability (big word, I hope I spell things right today). Like medical provider phone calls with no waiting music, no built in "You are sixth person on the line", and single repeating message that jumpscares you over and over making you think that "Now's the time!" and it seemingly never is.
Other awful feature I have encountered is the "Call Back" where you, after listening to automated message as long as the Old Testament, have to remember to give your name, information, and what you needed, after picking from numbered options so your call maybe goes to the right person - if those options are CLEAR and EASY to discern (they never are). They also never give you a date or time when they might call so you will be waiting by the phone for days at a time, hoping they grace you with their call sometimes soon...soon..soon...soon...???
These are DELIBERATE enshittification of these services. First they removed secretaries and eased into people getting waiting music and they got to know their number in the line. Then they removed the numbers. Then music disappeared. And finally you get to wait and wait that they call you at the most unconvinient time so you might miss it and need to call them again to wait again...
This is why I had 3 calls piled up this week. And I dreaded each one.
The one depicted into this comic also turned into a call-back hell. Second call at least also happened on the same day...but third? I am still waiting for that thing.
No wonder so many go without help when the first steps to it are already laden with spikes.
Trying my hardest to cope with a rare neurological sleep disorder some people don't even believe exists and yet manages to ruin my life.
