I finally got a good look at the menus. The cover is made of a smooth leather, the word menu carved into it with a fancy font, floral designs that match the ones on the windows carved into the top left corner and bottom right corner.
It looks so majestic. As if it belongs to a restaurant from a fantasy world. But that’s why I like the vibes of this place. It looks too good to be true.
“Are you liking the place?” Tida asks me. I look up at her, realising she has been trying to talk to me.
“Oh, yeah,” I smile, awkwardly. “Sorry, I'm a little out of mind today,”
“Are you gonna keep admiring the cover or are you actually gonna look at what to eat?” She smirks.
“I'm gonna look at what to eat,” I chuckle and so does Tida.
I open the menu. The menu looks as majestic on the inside, as the outside. The corners are painted with the same floral pattern as the cover.
The menu starts with lunch foods, the next page is desserts. The desserts are definitely what people come here for, if we talk about the actual food you can get here. The vibes definitely play a role but if we talk about the food, the desserts are what catches peoples eyes the most. Most of the people in the restaurant seem to have ordered a dessert.
The desserts sound so fantasy-like, I wonder if they based this off of a fantasy novel or something. It sure seems like it.
One of the desserts catches my eye. Strawberry Dream. It’s a strawberry milkshake with tapioca pearls and whipped cream, frozen grinded strawberries on the top.
Sounds amazing.
“What are you getting?” I ask Tida.
“I think,” A pause. “Actually, I’ll just have whatever you’re having. So what are you getting?”
“I was thinking of the Strawberry Dream.”
“Great choice.” She smiles and waves Ace over.
A little black cat seems to want to help Ace take the order, as it walks besides them.
They smile and pull out their notebook, from the pocket on the apron.
“So, what will it be for you two?” They ask, with the notebook and pen in hand.
“Two Strawberry Dreams, please.” Tida says.
“Excellent choice. My personal favorite, actually,” They chuckle and write it down. “Anything else?”
“Nope,” Tida says and pets the black cat that followed Ace and jumped onto her lap.
“That’ll be right with you,” Ace turns around and starts to make the drinks.
The silence stays for a bit, but it isn’t uncomfortable. The only sounds are cats, the wind hitting the window from outside and the music playing from the jukebox next to the bar. It’s a nice jazz song. I like it.
“So how are you liking the place?” Tida breaks the silence and puts her chin on her palm that’s on the table.
“Yeah,” I smile.
“Thought so,” She smiles back.
“What do you mean?” I pet the cat that climbed onto my lap.
“When you told me that stray cats liked you, I knew you’d love the place,” The cat on my lap purrs and I smile again. “Plus, it gave me the chance to finally see Ace again. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.”
“Well, it’s a win win then,” I chuckle and Tida laughs.
“Yeah it is,”
