The House of Sins: Level one

Chapter 3 Nigiel Keth part 2

Chapter 3 Nigiel Keth part 2

Apr 04, 2026

I then swung my shovel with all my might as the robot fell towards me and managed to hit its head, which caused its head to snap back and made the robot drop its shield while it got up to fix its head. I was going to go for another until I saw another robot make it up the stairs; this one had a crossbow, which the robot aimed at me as soon as it saw me.

I quickly lunged for the riot shield the robot dropped and quickly put it on, and it was just in time because once I brought it up, I managed to hit the shield and then ricocheted off it and hit the ground. The robot, who I hit with the shovel, managed to fix its head, and once it did, it charged at me, ready to attack. Then, out of nowhere, a loud bang went off and shot the back of the robot's head. I was shocked for a moment, and then I looked up to figure out what shot the robot.

I managed to spot 2 more rifle bots that were walking while shooting at me, not even caring about their teammate they just shot. As they continued putting pressure on me with their firepower, I decided to charge in with the shield in front of me towards the robots. The robots continued shooting at me despite me running full speed at them with a riot shield. I crashed into both, trying to knock them off their feet, but what instead happened was me being put to a dead stop as I hit them. I recovered and quickly stepped back to see why I couldn't knock these 2 over. I then found the reason why I couldn't overpower them as soon as I got a good look at them.

The reason why I was put to a dead stop was because these robots were a whole 2 feet taller than me; they were also heavily armored too with some sort of vests (most likely in case any of them try and team kill again).

The robots aimed their rifles at me again. I was going to backstep to gain some distance from them, but then I had an idea. I began walking towards them while my shield was still up. The robots then opened fire again without changing their strategy, even though they saw the bullets ricochet off the shield. I continued pushing through as they continued to fire their weapons at me, and then it happened. The robots continued to shoot at the shield robots, which caused their bullets to ricochet again, but this time some of them ricocheted back at them and were hitting them all over as they were continuing to fire. That was the moment that I realized this fight was going to be easy.

The reason why these guys are team killing without any remorse and don't seem to second-guess their tactics or actions is because they don't have a conscience. Unlike Roby, who can think for himself and can come up with ideas, these guys are just doing what they were programmed to do and nothing more. That's why they aren't able to feel remorse, why they aren't changing their tactics, and also why I'm not dead yet, so all I need to do is use their programming against them.

That was until I felt a bolt hit me in my back. I stumbled forward and fell on my face on the trash-filled ground. I then looked back and saw the original robot with the crossbow, who was standing there while reloading its weapon. I touched my back to check if there was any blood, only to get a sigh of relief. The wendigo suit managed to stop the crossbow from hitting my body due to it being built like a Kevlar vest but somehow more flexible. I got back up and was about to retrieve the shield I dropped, but then I heard heavy footsteps gaining close behind me. I spun around quickly to spot what was coming at me, only for a medium shield to meet my face. I fell on the ground from the force of the hit; I attempted to get back up only for the robot to stomp on my chest to keep me in place while readying its sword to finish me off. I grabbed my cross and was ready to see if I could deflect the sword, only for a bolt to go through the robot's head. As the robot fell down backwards, I looked around to see who shot the bolt. I looked at the crossbow robot to see if he did it, only to see it still reloading its crossbow. That's when I spotted Roby with his crossbow posted up on the fridge as he gave me his best thumbs-up despite him only having 3 fingers.

I smiled at him; I knew my smile looked horrifying because of my mask replicating my facial features. But I couldn't help it. I then got up and grabbed the sword while looking at the crossbow robot as it finally got done reloading. I then tried to lift the crossbow up to shoot me again, but this time, I cranked the sword up and threw it at it as hard as I could. I managed to hit its crossbow out of its hands, causing it to miss its shot, and before it could pick it back up, I managed to tackle it to the ground... barely. The only reason the tackle worked was because the robot had a smaller build compared to the other robots. After I rushed it to the ground, I grabbed my cross, unsheathed its blade, and stabbed it in its head.

I then stood up and put my hands on my knees as I began breathing in heavily due to the fight that just happened. After a couple of seconds of me regaining my breath, I then heard heavy footsteps approaching me, coming over the trash hill. I then decided to make a run for it again because there was no way I could win with me being outnumbered and on flat trash hole ground; I managed to make it a full 20 feet before I got shot in my back. I fell down the trash hill for a second and then got back up slowly only for a bullet to hit me in my back, but this time I didn't tumble down; I continued running down the back while feeling my back to check if any of their shots went through the suit, only to feel relief that None had pierced my skin.

I decided to run to the north side of the trash hole for cover. I usually avoid the north side of the trash hole entirely because that's where the trash usually falls from, and free-falling trash is a one-way ticket to heaven if it lands on your head. Before I even made it to the north side of the wall, a sword-and-shield robot came out of nowhere and crashed into me, tackling me to the ground. I got up as fast as I could and pulled out my shovel that was strapped onto my back to defend myself.

The robot swung its sword at my head, trying to get this fight over quickly, but I managed to duck under its slash and swung my shovel at its chest. I hit it, but it didn't do any damage because of its armor. The robot swung low this time, which made me go for a block. The good news is that I managed to block its sword; the bad news is that a sniper round hit me in my chest, which made me tumble back. I landed back first on a pile of trash near the trash hole wall and tried to recover, only for the sword and shield bot to plant its feet on my chest, causing my body to slightly sink into the trash I was under. The sniper robot then ran towards me. For some reason, it was running towards me like it couldn't see me. Man, these are some terribly designed robots. The sword-and-shield robot then lifted its sword in the air, getting ready to finish me off. I quickly reached around trying to find an item that could help, but before I could find an item, the wall I was near exploded right beside me.

The explosion actually didn't affect me that much due to the robot being on top of me, But the explosion did cause the robots to get launched across the trash hole and made them break apart as they hit the ground. I slowly got up while holding my ears due to the sound of the explosion and began looking at the now hole that was created in the wall due to the explosion.

"Okay, maybe I used too much gunpowder for this mixture," a voice said inside the smoke near the wall. I instantly froze and stapled my eyes on the smoke. I then heard footsteps slowly approach. I lifted my shovel, readying for another attack from the enemy, only to come face-to-face with a white, human-sized owl monster with a big gash on its hip. We both locked eyes for a while; due to us both being strangers and not knowing each other, I then made the decision to try to make a peaceful and calm first impression.

"Hello, Owl," I said in the nicest tone I could muster, then a loud bang filled the entire trash hole. After the bang happened, a plasma net flew over our heads and covered the hole that was blown up, trapping us both in this place now.

"Player 3 has been entered, increasing difficulty by 25%." The main robot on the ship announced. After he announced that 1 more bot was dropped from the ship, I couldn't see what type of robot it was; all I could see was that the robot was big. I looked back at the Owl, who was looking back at the now sealed-off hole she made, and then she looked back at me with some confusion, and then she finally spoke.

"What did I just walk in on?" she asked me while reaching in her bag. I looked back at the ship that was still in the air, along with the broken robots that were destroyed due to the explosion. I then spotted the sniper rifle that was used to shoot me to the ground and picked it up, and held it out for the owl.

"A megalomaniac," I said with a slight joy in my voice. How could I not be a little happy when freedom from this place is so close, just a little more work?
