Robot cat!!! Also here she asks if Amelia wants to do the verbal learning test. And PSYCAT proceeds to do the digit span test- this is intentional since PSYCAT is very bugged. It has no anti-virus vaccination.
Also here's what the actual tests would be like in case your wondering (since I only will be showing a digit span test and not verbal learning):
Digit span tests.
recall a series of numbers. And is usually done in sets. For example.
2,3,4,5,6,7,--> the amount of numbers you can recall from the set is your digit span.
Verbal learning.
recalling a list of 17 unrelated words and recalling them after a delay over 7 trials. Modified though many different variants like encoding based verbal learning is also usually assessed.
For example. In Craik and Tulvings experiment outlined that there were generally three ways to process words.
Structurally- The visual look of the words
Phoenetically- The sound of the words
Semantically- the meaning of the words
So depending on the person- they may visualise words and come up with stories( semantic) or rhyme words together (phoentic) or many who are unaware of encoding styles may just rely on their base instincts of reading a word flat out (structural).
