And now, a proper time to finally name and explain an important in-born power of the setting.
Almost every being is born with a power, one of their names being Potent. The properties of one's Potent can greatly vary, from the ability to turn green any vanilla malt made in a five minute span to the ability to create new universe with a thought); however, many of them share two noticeable properties: 1) an innate knowing of their name; 2), and more importantly, their ability to circumvent many common magical and scientific barriers.
To give an example: a Dark-Based ward that prevents the content of a safe from supposedly all x-ray methods could be penetrated by a certain see-all Potent. Meanwhile, a mind scrambling visual agent that has otherwise gone through all known mind-protection wards could be blocked by a mind-protecting Potent.
Unsurprisingly, in an earth where magic is common, and science has reached levels indistinguishable from magic, Potents remain highly sought-out.
The results are predictably, horrible and exploitative (though that is a story for another time).

On a more serious note...
Hate against Latine People and Immigrants are currently on the rise, those two hates often intersecting greatly, as shown by the deportation-and-abduction agenda of the trump and Stephen miller regime. Thus, I implore people to do their part to support Latine People and Immigrants, one especial thing that people can do is donating to fundraisers. The link has a few of them.

This is a story about Moon Weixing and Sandamance, as they prowl through its street at dark, seeking to take out its tyrants and tyrant aspirants, while hoping to dodge an old pursuer for another day.
This is a story of greater events born decades before their history; greater events that now threaten to drown and tear them apart. Greater events from lofty heights, from buried depths, greater events swirling with cosmic worries.
Greater events that will drag Monsent, Moon, and La Resurrección into the center of a maelstrom.
La Resurrección is the "Place where Things Happen". Great and unexpected things are happening its way...
