Harry Gage
“The pawn even Omniscience refuses to look at.”

Harry let out a small sigh… His back leaning against the bricks of the unlit fireplace back at his late mother’s house… His gaze roamed over the two strangers who were now stuck with him for his plan. There would be more coming. Tension hung in the air… Everyone here had reasons to kill one another… But one thing kept it from going that badly…
HATE.
It kept them on the same side. Harry’s hate for what happened to Elaria and her system… Diana’s hate over the whole dominion… And the blacksmith’s hate of Elaria… That was the one thing keeping them tied… Harry closed his eyes for a moment… Letting the ideas roam throughout his mind… How was he going to get Elaria free… Why would he do it… A wave shifted in his mind… Something was watching. He knew it… That feeling… That thing was watching again from out there… It was interested in him; that was clear… Harry let out a small scoff as he turned his gaze to the being watching him from above… A giant eye was only visible from his point of view by the changes in wavelengths that interfered with his vision.
The waves that circled life were so sensitive to Harry that he could pick up on very minute changes to them… Even if he were to be blinded… He would still see, in a way. He held the gaze of the Eye with his own… Why was it watching him so intently…?
Hate… You spoke of this concept… What is it?
Harry’s eyes twitched… That thing dared to ask him a question? It could go suck it. Harry let out a soft groan as he turned his gaze away from the eye, focusing back on the strangers within his home.
The Eye’s gaze froze for a moment… Someone who could perceive it… and yet… It chose to ignore its very existence…? Intriguing.
The waves around Harry shifted as if something had gotten way closer… The very fabric of space and time making room for something far larger… As if it was pressing itself against the very barrier of them… Harry let out a sigh… This damn eye… Sure was insistent. He raised the metallic hand over his shoulder and raised his middle finger toward the entity. Without even glancing at it.
The Eye glanced toward the metal hand… Was this what the blacksmith had made for him… Such an intricate design on it… A woman beheading a man…? Such fierce power in her eyes… Looks like vengeance… But what is vengeance? What does it mean… I do know the definition… But what is the true meaning behind it… Ah… Perhaps it’s similar to what… What was his name again… Right… Nathan Ashcroft was doing… That man used to go around and kill people for a sick sense of justice. I suppose in a way he was justified… Just like this woman.
Harry took a small glance back toward the Eye… “Could you shut up?” Diana’s and the blacksmith’s heads spun around toward Harry as he seemed to be talking to himself. Harry glanced back at them. “Right…You can’t see it. Good for your sanity. I suppose.”
Diana glanced at the blacksmith before her gaze returned to Harry… “What are you seeing exactly…?” She had chosen to believe in him… The blacksmith turned to her in confusion… The man before them was clearly having some kind of episode… Why did she—
“An Outer God,” Harry said with a small sigh. “That’s what I would call what I’m perceiving…”
“Perceiving…? So you aren’t actually seeing it? …” The blacksmith added, despite the fact that he didn’t believe him.
“In this world… Everything is connected like a giant spiderweb, not only by social and cultural means but also by the very way that the universe is shaped… Every part of it is connected… Move one side, and everything moves in a certain way. Ive noticed quite recently…” He paused for a moment to catch his breath… “I can perceive said changes.”
An echo of confusion came out of both of the strangers’ mouths before him.
“So what… You are a superhuman? Were you even born with this ability?” Diana’s voice echoed through Harry’s mind…
For how long was he able to do this? Was he always able to? Or was it given to him? “Now that you mention it… I was able to hear birds despite them being outside an enclosed room that had no windows…” and that was before he had even interacted with the Gem… “It’s probably something genetic or whatever…”
“Alright… Let’s say that we believe what you are saying Harry… What does this thing look… well, Feel like to you?” The blacksmith added… There was no evidence of his claim.
Harry let out a small groan as he used his metal arm to help himself up as he walked toward the fireplace they were close to in order to grab a piece of charcoal. The others looked at him in confusion. What the hell was he—Harry, using the charcoal, drew on the wooden wall of the living room what he was “feeling.” A giant eye with multiple irises… Tendrils connected said eye to a “body” that housed another eye. This… It was way too specific to be an episode.
“That thing is currently watching us…right there.” He turned to the eye and pointed at it.
The others turned their head to look at nothing… While something stared back right at them…
“Hold on…Just hold on for one second.” Diana said as she stood up to walk over to Harry, nearby the wall. “What the fuck do you mean it might be genetic? You are speaking as if you “see” in a whole different way than is imaginable. This isn’t some genetic bullshit; don’t be that delusional.”
“Well,” Harry paused, thinking about everything that had occurred throughout his life. “It’s either genetic…or it has to do with the gem. But I had this ability before I manipulated the gem. So unless there’s some time paradox bullshit…I don’t see why it can’t be genetic.”
The blacksmith let out a small groan… He was starting to believe this… Slowly. “Alright…Alright… You were born with this; we get it. What is this…thing doing anyway? Is it just staring at us? What is so wrong with it, hm?”
Harry sighed softly knowing what he was about to say was about to leave one hell of an impact on everyone in this room… “This eye… Is the one who took over from Elaria. What she may have done before… No matter how much you hate her. Put that aside for now. Got it? If you wish to kill her… Have the respect to wait until we free her from that…thing.”
Diana froze while the blacksmith moved closer to Harry… His eyes seemed to be thoughtful for a moment. What was he deciding? “In the honor that I have lost fighting by your and Lady Vaelwyn’s side… You have my word that I will not kill her… Until after this is done.” For the first time in a while… Harry smiled gently. Things… might just work out. He turned his gaze toward Diana…
“Don’t even. I’m not making a promise I know I won’t keep.”
“Fair enough,” Harry chuckled.
