And so, while their time with the Golem Hall kids was canonically short (it's been several years for us, but only a few days for them), the Little Bastards all leave together and seek whatever the next big thing is for them.
I wanted to close this sequence on a warm note. Though their initial goal was to steal from the kids of Golem Hall, they ended up returning everything (except the plushie that Verity offered), and became friends with them instead. They're going their separate ways for now, but I think this mostly ended up being a positive experience for most of the kids involved.
That said, while this turned out to be a sweet goodbye, let me offer an "emotions warning" for the remainder of the chapter (four more pages).
