= SARAH POV =

I looked around the apartment to see just how big it was and how much I had to clean. There was Chris’ room, the guest room, the living room, a study, and the kitchen…oh, and two bathrooms, one that was ensuite to Chris’ room and another that was located through the kitchen. 

It was doable… if I put in about six to eight hours… but then when was I going to go job hunting?

Lol, at this rate I might just end up actually homeless. I better get a new job soon; I can’t live on my savings forever.

“Sarah, dinner,” Chris said as she passed by me from the kitchen and started setting up on the coffee table in the living room.

The smell was so good I sort of forgot that I was upset at Chris and drifted over happily, sitting down and waiting for Chris to bring out cutlery so that we could eat.

“Come, Sarah, help me get the cutlery and the cups. You live here now, so you should help out,” Chris said from the kitchen, as if she knew I was just sitting on the couch dutifully waiting for her.

I bounced up and joined Chris in the kitchen. 

“Ok! Where do you keep everything?” I asked as I looked around at the drawers all over her kitchen.

Suddenly, I felt Chris’ hands on my hips and a sharp tug brought me hard against her lean frame.

“You see? If it was anyone other than me, this could get bad real fast,” Chris said in a low voice, her breath ghosting the skin at my nape, making me gasp and freeze, my eyes wide, confused.

I felt my whole body tense up involuntarily. Did Chris mean to do something to me…just before we ate? 

I mean, is this what it meant, to do… smexy things as Friends with benefits?

However, Chris just reached around me and pulled a drawer open that was on my right side. Had I still been a little bit in front, it would have hit me in my waist and that would have hurt a lot.

Oh…she was, saving me from my own stupidity, again.

All the cutlery was there, and before I could reply, Chris patted me on the head and told me to get a set for each of us and left.

I stood there for a moment. 

Mortified. 

Chris patted me on the head.

I am officially… pet material? Have I dropped into an even lower class than friend material?
