Tida excuses herself and goes to the restroom, she says something to Ace as she passes but I’m not good at reading lips so I have no idea of what she told them.
I turn my focus on the cats all around the table. They’re all so cute. I can see why Tida likes the place.
After a few moments, Tida returns from the restroom.
“Sorry it took so long,” Tida points at her stomach and I immediately understand what she means by it. Period.
“Ah, I completely understand,” I nod. “Don’t apologize for that.” I smile.
Ace comes over with the drinks on a tray. They look so yummy! The drinks, not Ace. Ace looks good, yes, but not really my type.
The drinks are in two cups of a pink dessert drink. Each cup is topped with whipped cream, pink heart-shaped candies, and pink Oreo cookies. Wooden sticks with ‘Magnum’ printed on them are also stuck into the whipped cream. Two pink striped straws in each one. The cups appear to contain a layered pink drink with tapioca pearls at the bottom.
“They look so yummy, Ace. You really took your time with these huh?” I say.
“I’m used to making them by now so not that much of a hassle.” They chuckle and place the drinks down at the table, one for me and one for Tida.
Ace winks at Tida and she smiles back.
Are they just friends or are they something more? It sure seems like they’re flirting a lot. I mean, not that I care. Totally not. Me and Tida only met like three days ago and we’re just hanging out.
“You alright?” Tida tilts her head and looks at me, her left eyebrow raised.
“Oh yeah I'm fine.” I smile and take a sip through the straw of my drink.
It sure tastes like a strawberry dream. I let out a satisfied hum. The sweet taste of strawberry melts on my tongue, the creamy texture of the whipped cream blended into the sweetness. It’s the best drink I've ever had, oh my god. I take the pink oreo on top of the whipped cream and take a bite. It tastes as sweet as the drink itself.
Tida looks as pleased with the drink as I probably do. I can feel my cheeks starting to hurt from the smile on my face.
Ace comes over again.
“Is everything to your liking?”
A cat meows as if saying yes, even though it hasn’t had anything to drink or eat. We all giggle at the cat and I pet it. I turn back to Ace.
“Yes, it’s absolutely delicious,” I smile and so does Tida. A little dimple appears on each side of her cheek.
“That’s good to hear,” They fix their short blonde hair, tightening the little ponytail they have set up at the back of their head. It fits them a lot. “Just call me over if you need anything alright?”
“Will do,” Tida says before she takes another sip of her drink.
Her smile quickly fades though and she starts to look a little pale.
“Are you okay?” I ask.
“That idiot,” She whispers under her breath.
