So, we were taking the late-night mail train when we were stopped at a signal. It was a dark night, as the moon was hidden behind the clouds. We waited there for about a minute when one of the Little Westerners, Douglas to be exact pulled up next to us, he was taking the midnight goods to the other railway and would be back in the morning. He told Percy that he was a little nervous about it, as he's still a little scared of the diesels over there due to his experience with scrapping. Percy reassured him that he would be fine, the signal then dropped, and we left.
We finished the mail run, and had just gotten back to the sheds when Sir Topham Hatt (the controller of the railway) arrived. He said he had to tell us something important but had to wait until Thomas came back; not even 5 minutes later, Thomas came back from his mail run and Sir Topham Hatt told us his message. He said that both Thomas and Percy had to take some early morning passenger trains tomorrow because of the extra demand for trains due to the busy season. He tipped his hat and left.
After he was out of sight, Thomas and Percy started complaining bitterly about having to wake up so early. Me, Greg, and Thomas' crew (Bob and Ted) didn't want to hear it, so we left. I just hope we won't have to deal with listening to them complaining in the morning, but I doubt it.
