I had to wake up around 6:00AM to get ready; I was very sleepy, but I got myself going. I met up with Greg at his house, and we walked over to Tidmouth Sheds to get Percy steamed up. We arrived and everyone was asleep; I gave Percy a little tap on the buffer and he slowly started to wake up. Bob and Ted arrived about 5 minutes after us, and they started to get Thomas steamed up. The two engines were very sleepy but after a while, they were awake. During this time, the other engine crews arrived and started taking the other engines out; I guess Topham also had them collect early trains too. Soon, we arrived at Tidmouth Station. Thomas went to the carriage shed to get his coaches, Annie and Clarabel, while we had Percy grab some red branch line coaches from a siding in the yard, and they both engines pulled up to the station.
The station was flooded with people, I can't believe people are up this early to catch some trains. We waited around for about 10 minutes while the people got on board. Thomas and Percy kept grumbling about having to wake up so early. By this point, me and Greg were really fed up with Percy, and I told him to be quiet. Percy snapped back at me and while we were arguing, we all suddenly stopped as we heard the sound of helicopters above us. I leaned out of the cab to have a better look, and when I saw the logo on the side of the helicopters, I froze.
Suddenly, one of the helicopters dropped something and it was heading for the town near the station. This was followed by a massive explosion as the passengers started to scream in fear while I almost fell out of the cab from the shockwave! Thomas and Percy went into a panic while the guards were quickly getting the people into the coaches. I knew we had to get out of there as more helicopters arrived and were dropping more bombs! I blew Percy's whistle long and loud as I threw open the regulator. Percy's wheels screeched against the rails as we tore out of there in reverse. Just as the sight of the station was getting out of our view, we saw Thomas race forwards heading in the direction of Knapford, hopefully he'll be okay.
We suddenly got switched onto the Little Western branch line while we had several helicopters after us! Just as we reached Tidmouth Hault, we saw Percy's friend Duck sitting at the platform with a passenger train. Percy blew his whistle and yelled at him to make a run for it. He quickly raced forward with his wheels slipping on the rails!
We charged on down the line with several missiles being shot at us as we went! Percy kept screaming in both pain and fear as he was barely missing several explosions and getting injured in the process; we kept going regardless. Percy hadn't gone this fast in a long time; I could see steam starting to leak from his pistons from all the pressure. I knew we had to stop, so me and Greg decided we should stop at Callan further up the line.
Suddenly, the helicopters that were after us stopped, and went back, we were confused but then we remembered Duck! Suddenly, we got sent into a siding at Arlesburgh! I slammed on the brakes, but the coaches smashed through the buffers, and we came to a stop! We then heard a whistle, and Duck shot past with the helicopters after him! Luckily, they didn't come after us, so we were safe. I hopped out of the cab to check on the passengers, and several were heavily injured from the impact of the crash. Luckily, there was a doctor in one of the coaches, and he started to tend to the hurt passengers.
After that, I went to check on Percy, and he was quite beaten up. He had a big cut on his forehead, several bruises, and he was covered in soot and ash from the missiles and explosions. I then remembered his piston, and I found out that there was a small hole, but I had to wait for Percy to cool down before I could patch it up. Greg was quite shaken up, but otherwise alright; I'm just hoping Duck made it out alive.
