An Island of Bombings | A TTTE AU

I seriously could not sleep at all last night. These last few days have been probably the worst days anyone could ever have in their life. I still can't believe it's just us now, and I seriously think that by this point, we should just make a break for the Mainland and let the professionals handle all this. I'll have to see what the others think.

Well, we talked it over, and there are some mixed opinions. But first off, I finally have some good news. Greg finally woke up! He was really dizzy and he said his head was aching. I told him what happened and he told us what he could remember.

After Percy took off out of the yard, he tried desperately to figure out how to apply his brakes, but as I suspected, he didn't know how, so he had no choice but to just hold on tight. Then when they got to Kellsthrope, he braced for impact, and that was all he could remember.

We filled him in on what had happened yesterday, and he couldn't believe what he heard. Anyway, back to the opinions. I, along with Greg, Bob, and Ted wanted to just make a break for the Mainland, but Thomas didn't. He said we needed to go back and rescue the others, as he put it, "Several of them helped you, so you should return the favour". So, it was settled. Greg would stay back with Percy, Annie, Clarabel, and Henrietta while I go with Thomas, Bob, and Ted. We grabbed a flatbed, along with a van and brake van for protection, and we set off.

When we got to Lower Suddery, we were shocked to see Douglas in the shed! We tried to talk to him, but he had the most haunted look on his face. We decided to come back for him as we need to find everyone else. Just as we started pulling away, Douglas shouted, "Stop!". Bob stopped Thomas and Douglas pulled up alongside. He told us going to Brendam was a bad idea, he said that the Germans were holding the others as prisoners and that if we went in there, we would most likely get captured too. Thomas said that we can't just leave them there, because the Germans might kill them. Thomas then mentioned Donald saying that he would want you to help the others and himself. "Donald was the one who saved you and brought you to Sodor in the first place. Don't you think you should repay him?" Thomas asked. Douglas smiled and agreed to come with us. Luckily, there was another flatbed in the yard. Douglas coupled up to it and went in front of us, then; we charged towards Brendam.

It didn't take long until we arrived, and as soon as we entered, it was chaos! Soldiers started firing at us from every direction! We pressed on regardless, and soon, we made it to some sidings where all the engines were, including BoCo, Bill, and Ben! Unfortunately, several German engines came up behind us, so we had to fight back. We were luckily able to bash them off the track, so we could start rescuing the others. Douglas of course went and grabbed Donald first. He coupled up to his twin and pulled him away. Thomas couldn't take everyone due to him being a small engine, but he was able to take Edward and James. He tried his hardest to pull them both, but his wheels slipped on the rails. Just then, more German engines started charging at us! James yelled for Thomas to leave him, and just rescue Edward. Thomas felt a tear run down his cheek as he pulled Edward away with all his strength. Just as we were exiting the docks, we saw Douglas race back in! If he had just went to rescue Donald, I would've been very ticked off with him.

When we got too Upper Brendam, we saw Donald sitting in the yards. He told us Douglas said he was going to try and rescue James or Gordon. We decided to stay in the yards to wait for Douglas, as Thomas couldn't pull both Edward and Donald, and in the meantime, us crews could get Donald and Edward fired up.

Suddenly, Douglas came speeding through pulling James! He told us we had to make a run for it! We were confused but we soon found out what the problem was. Chasing after them was Diesel! An engine which had told lies about Duck and almost got him sent away. We were shocked to see him as he had just been sent away for the second time a few months ago, I guess he wanted revenge or something. We didn't want to risk him coming back here and getting more Germans to capture us, so as soon as Edward was in steam, he and Thomas pulled Donald along.

Half an hour later, we had just exited the junction to the branch, and that was when trouble happened. Diesel who was now racing backwards was on our line heading straight for us! Thomas and Edward jerked forward too hard which broke the coupling leaving Donald stranded! Before we could do anything, we had already been switched onto another track! Diesel bashed into Donald and laughing like a maniac, pushed him back down the branch with the Scott yelling for help! Just then, Douglas came racing through yelling at us to make break for Crosby before speeding off back down the branch!

About a minute after he sped off, we all just stood in silence. Greg, Annie, Clarabel, and Henrietta had seen everything from the yard, and they just said nothing. We put Edward in the goods shed with Percy and the coaches before we set off for Crosby.

After a bit of traveling, we arrived at Crosby, and to our shock, we found James and Duck in the yards! They were shocked to see us but happy, nonetheless. We told them what happened at Wellsworth and they were both very upset while hoping the twins would be alright. James was especially worried for Douglas considering he basically saved his life. Once James was steamed up, we all went back to Wellsworth.

When we arrived back, Edward and the others were happy to see James and Duck. Just then, we heard the sound of a diesel engine coming closer, followed by a horn we didn't recognize. Suddenly, a big green diesel pulled up beside the yard. He had the number D261 on his cab sides. Behind him was a train of coaches followed by several vans. He asked us if we were all alright, and we told him about what had happened today. After we finished explaining about Brendam, he revved his engine and raced backwards down the branch. We were just left speechless, unsure what to think. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he returns.

I'm going to stop writing for now as my hand is really aching, I'll probably start writing again when that diesel comes back.
