An Island of Bombings | A TTTE AU

First off, that bed was so damn comfortable, it was honestly better than my own bed, and it was so nice not sleeping on a cab floor for once. Anyway, once I was ready, I met up with everyone else in the lobby of the hotel, and we all left for the sheds.

We soon arrived, and all the engines greeted us warmly. Me and Greg went to steam Percy up, as we were going to take the engines to get repaired at the works down the line. Once Percy was steamed up, we pulled him out of the sheds, and we were met with the general we saw yesterday. He was a kind man and congratulated us on everything we'd accomplished. We thanked him, and while we were waiting for the other engines to be ready, me and Greg told him our whole story, and he couldn't believe how much we'd been through. Percy then asked the general if they'd located the other engines that were down at Brendam, and he said that they had located them, but they were still being held as prisoners. Percy immediately wanted to go and rescue them, but we told him that since the Suspension bridge collapsed, there was no way to get to Crovan's Gate, or anywhere else past that. The general then spoke up and said that he and his men were going to plan a rescue attempt using all their helicopters and such, so there should be no need to worry. I then told Percy that maybe we should let the professionals handle it this time, and he sadly agreed. We wished him luck before we set off for the works.

We arrived at the works, and we put Percy into one of the sidings. The men were kind and said they would get Percy back in working order in no time. Greg decided to stay at the works for a while, and I left to go find out more about this "rescue attempt". After hitching a ride on a bus, I made it back to Barrow-N-Furness. After a bit of a walk, I made it back to the bridge to Sodor. The military were guarding it so no Germans could leave the island, I soon saw the general and ran over to him. I asked him for some more details about this plan of his, and he explained. Basically, he and his men were going to fly over to Brendam from high above so they wouldn't be noticed or heard, once they locate the exact location of the engines, they would start bombing any German machine they could see, avoiding where the engines were of course. Once their equipment is destroyed, they'll land and fight off anymore Germans still guarding the engines. Once that's done, they'll rescue the engines and send them on boat to Barrow. I was quite amazed by how well thought out this plan was. I then asked when they were leaving, and he said in about half an hour. I thanked him for everything, and I set off on my walk back. Before I got 5 feet away, one of the soldiers offered me a ride in his helicopter back to the works, and I gladly took him up on it.

Once I arrived back, I went to check on Percy and Greg. Greg was talking with the workmen while they were working, and Percy's repairs were about halfway done. His piston had been properly fixed, and now it was down to the dents and scratches. Suddenly, an urgent call came into the works office, me and Greg went over to see what it was, and it was the general. He said that he needed us down at the bridge immediately. Luckily for us, Thomas' repairs were done, and we hitched a ride on him with Bob and Ted. We raced out of the works and towards the bridge.

When we arrived, we couldn't believe who was there. Sitting on the line just off the bridge was a very damaged Donald! We couldn't believe he was alive, and even though he was damaged beyond belief, he managed to give a small smile. I hopped out of Thomas' cab and asked the general how he got here. He told us that they had just left to go start their attack on Brendam, when they found Donald on the other side of the Suspension Bridge. They had to get some helicopters including Harold to lift him over the bridge and onto the other side. Thomas started asking Donald what had happened to make him end up in this state, but he was too tired and hurt to speak, so we decided to let him rest and Thomas took him to the works.

We pulled into the works and everyone was shocked at the state of Donald. We told them of how he got to the Mainland and Percy wanted to somehow get back on the west-side of the island and rescue the others, and then, I had an idea. I asked the workmen how long it would take to finish up Percy, and they said he should be ready by tomorrow morning. I thanked them and then asked Bob and Ted if we could go back to the bridge 1 last time so I could speak to the general, and they agreed to it.

We soon made it and I told the general about my plan, and even though he was hesitant, I eventually talked him into it. I'm hoping my plan tomorrow will go alright, now I just have to speak with Percy and Greg about this.
