An Island of Bombings | A TTTE AU

As soon as I told Percy about my plan, he was all for it! Greg was a little nervous about it though. Considering we already risked our lives so much, he didn't want to do that again. I told him that we would be fine since we have the military this time, and that gave him the courage he needed!

Now, here's my plan. We're going to go back onto the island and once we reach the Suspension Bridge, we'll get a helicopter to lift Percy over the gorge and onto the other side. Once that's done, we'll make our way to Brendam with the military to save the engines that are being held captive. The military will either arrest or kill the rest of the Germans if they don't corporate. Just as we were getting ready to leave, Thomas, Bob, and Ted came up, and said they wanted to join us. We agreed and we set off towards the bridge.

We soon arrived back at the Vicarstown Bridge, and the general was waiting for us. He asked why Thomas and his crew were here, and we told him that they wanted to come along. He then showed us the helicopter that would be coming along to lift Percy and Thomas over. Once everyone was ready, we slowly made our way over the bridge back onto Sodor.

The journey up to the now destroyed bridge was quiet, but that all changed when we reached the bridge. Me and Greg hopped out of Percy's cab, and strong cables were fastened to him. He was then slowly lifted up and over the gorge. Once he was on the other side, Thomas was then lifted over too. Us crews hitched a quick ride in the helicopter and once we were all on the other side, we charged towards Brendam!

We stopped at Wellsworth to turn the two tank engines around, and by then, several more military helicopters had joined us, we had a pretty good army if I say so myself. Hopefully this all goes well.

We arrived at Lower Suddery, and we could already hear a bunch of noise coming from the docks. The general climbed down from one of the helicopters and gave me a radio. He said that when they had taken down the Germans, we could come in and rescue the engines. I thanked him and the helicopters left. While we waited, Percy noticed Thomas seemed upset, and he asked him what was wrong. He just said that he couldn't believe what's happened to this island and all his friends. For once, Percy comforted him which really surprised me and Greg due to the last several days. I think he finally has hope, and he's starting to return to his normal self which is a relief.

We suddenly heard a bunch of guns shooting followed by several loud explosions! We were all concerned, but eventually, it all stopped, and we got the radio call that it was safe to come in. We slowly started towards the docks, and when we arrived, god it was a mess. Trucks in sidings blown up, crates and other materials scattered all over, and some buildings were pretty beaten up. We soon made our way over to a set of sidings and we found the other engines safe and sound! Douglas asked us if we had seen Donald and we told him that we got him to the Mainland yesterday. He was so relieved that his twin made it out alive. The other engines and rolling stock that were still there were James, BoCo, Bill, Ben, Oliver, Isabel, and Toad. We did find a few surviving workmen in one of the buildings, so they hitched a ride with us. Once we got everyone together, we thanked the general and his men for everything, especially the engines. There was now a problem, we weren't able to get a boat for the engines, so now everyone would have to get lifted over the gorge again which would take a while, but we would worry about that later. After that, we set off back towards the mainline.

Just as we exited the branch, we heard a horn, and coming towards us was Daisy the diesel railcar! We were shocked to see her alive and asked where she'd been this whole time. She said she was up at Ulfstead on Thomas' branch this entire time and decided to try and make it to the Mainland until she saw us. We told her we were on our way back now, and she agreed to join us.

The trip was going well, and everyone was fine. That was until we made it to Cronk-Abbey. Just as we passed by, Diesel came racing out of the yard and onto the line behind us! We all freaked out and I opened Percy's regulator even more to gain more speed. We weren't able to go very fast due to only having 2 tank engines and a diesel railcar pulling all the engines from Brendam. Suddenly, some German helicopters were above us! I guess they had a secret base somewhere. Greg then suddenly asked if I still had the radio, and I did. He then made a quick call and put the radio away. We tried to keep going, but it all proved too much for Percy, Thomas, and Daisy. Diesel eventually overtook us, and he switched onto our line with his brakes on, and this really slowed us down.

Eventually, we came to a stop in the middle of the line near Kellsthrope. One of the soldiers had gotten out of one of the helicopters and came up to us. They ordered us crews to get out of the engines. I was worried by this point, and I didn't know if we would make it out alive this time. The soldier then ordered Diesel to put the engines onto another track out of the way at the moment. Diesel tried to pull the engines, but they were too heavy. The soldier was about to complain when suddenly, the military arrived and started shooting at the Germans and Diesel! One bullet went and got Diesel right in the forehead killing him instantly! A few bullets went through Daisy's windows, and one hit James' boiler causing a hole!

Eventually, everything stopped, and all the Germans were down. The general climbed down from one of the helicopters and asked if we were all alright. This was then interrupted by the sound of a diesel horn we had never heard before. Beside the engines came a large diesel, I think it was a Class 42 Warship, with a giant claw on its roof! The claw looked menacing, and when the diesel pulled up, it had a wicked snarl on its face. The engine spoke with a German accent, and that was when we knew he was trouble. All he said was, "Bye bye puffball!" Suddenly without warning, the claw swung towards the engines and bashed right into the side of Percy causing a massive dent in his saddle tank and knocking him on his side! The engines were all shocked, but that wasn't the end. Percy started to make an awful hissing sound, and his face started to turn red. I knew what was about to happen, I hopped into Thomas' cab and threw open his regulator! Thomas shot forward bashing Diesel's corpse out of the way but was no longer coupled up to the others! I guess the coupling got shot during the shooting. I stopped Thomas but there wasn't enough time to go back! Percy started screaming in pain as his eyes began to melt! Greg started to run over towards Percy, and I shouted at him to get back, but it was too late. Percy exploded with a thunderous bang, and pieces of him were sent flying everywhere! The big diesel who we later found out to be called Diesel 10 reversed out of the way before the explosion, but because Daisy was so close to Percy, she ended up getting caught in the fire! Greg was also killed, and I fell to my knees in tears. James was the next closest, and he had a massive burn on the side of his face, and some of his paint had been burnt off. Douglas, Oliver, BoCo, and the twins were alright though. Bob and Ted had taken cover, so they were alright, but Thomas lost it; I've never seen him cry so hard, and I couldn't blame him as I was still so upset.

During our moment, Diesel 10 started moving again, and he was slowly coming towards us. Bob and ted noticed this, and they ran over to Thomas, and hopped into his cab. I quickly saw what was about to happen and got up off the floor. Bob threw open Thomas' regulator, and we took off with Diesel 10 chasing us!

Now we were all panicking, Thomas was still crying but he knew he had to try and control himself. I was probably the most scared, considering what that claw did to my engine, I can't imagine what it could do to Thomas. Thomas picked up speed and we were starting to lose Diesel 10, but the big diesel was slowly catching up to us! As we neared Crovan's Gate, I had an idea. Luckily, there was a spare shovel in the cab, and as we passed through the station, I threw it at a set of points switching them into a goods shed. Diesel 10 tried to stop, but it was too late. He smashed into a line of trucks and went through the back of the shed!

Bob slammed on Thomas' brakes, and we came to a stop. Thomas slowly reversed towards the shed, but that was a huge mistake. Diesel 10 blasted his horn and reversed onto the track behind us and we took off going forwards again!

We kept on running, but like before, Diesel 10 was catching up! We all suddenly realized what was up ahead, the now broken Suspension Bridge! Just as we were approaching it, Bob slammed on the brakes, and we stopped just barely before the edge. We didn't have a second to think, and Diesel 10 slowly rolled up behind us. At this point, I accepted my fate, I already lost my engine, and my co-worker, and I wanted it to all end. Diesel 10 slowly started to move towards us, I could hear Thomas screaming and crying in terror, but there was nothing we could do. As he was about to bump into us, we heard a loud deep-toned whistle coming up behind us, Douglas ran up behind Diesel 10 and started to pull him away! He pulled him just past a set of points, and that was when we made our move. Bob opened the regulator, and we raced backwards and over the set of points! Douglas then gave Diesel 10 a huge bump which snapped the coupling between them! He raced forwards and even with his brakes hard on, it did no good. Diesel 10 flew over the side of the bridge and smashed to the ground taking his screams with him. We all went to the edge and looked down towards where the diesel was now in flames. None of us said a word and just sat there in silence for what felt like an eternity. Soon enough, the military found us and they had brought James and Oliver with them. We were soon all across the bridge once more and slowly made our way towards the Mainland.

Once we got back, we dropped the engines off either at the works or the sheds, and I left for the hotel once more; this time however, I didn't have my co-worker with me. Bob and Ted tried to cheer me up, but I wasn't listening to them. Once I got to my bed, I laid down, and started to write all this down, and that's where we're at right now. I'm going to try and get some sleep, but it's going to be hard knowing 2 of the most important allies in my life are no longer here with me.
