July, 22. 1998.

Well, sleeping in Duck's cab wasn't the best, but at least we had anywhere to sleep. I was about to get out of the cab when I heard a weird groaning noise. I slowly looked out of the cab and I saw Oliver's crew walking around like zombies! It seemed the mist had taken full control of them. Me and Erick had no idea what to do. Oliver and Duck were still asleep thankfully, but we needed to get these guys out of here before they find us and possibly infect us. Luckily for us, the two men started banging on the door and eventually got it open letting them out of the shed. I quickly jumped down and quietly shut the door to prevent them getting back in. At that moment, Duck woke up and we explained what happened to him. He was a little freaked out now knowing what the effects of the mist can cause. I slowly opened the shed door again, and thankfully there was no red mist in sight, just a dark cloudy sky. Me and Erick decided we should get moving, we fired up Duck, and we pulled out of the shed. We switched onto the other track to get Oliver as we'd have to pull him due to the situation that just happened. Once we coupled up to Oliver, we went to the back of the yard to pick up Toad. He was glad to see we were okay and we told him what happened with Oliver's crew. He was saddened especially when he saw the state of Oliver. While the three friends talked, I went to check on the passengers, and thankfully they were all okay. I told them we would be leaving to try and find supplies. Before we left, we grabbed a coal truck from the yard that thankfully hadn't been infected and put it in front of Duck for protection. I had a quick chat with Erick, and he said that we should try and get to Knapford as it's the closest big town and there's bound to be supplies there. Once we were all ready, we set off for Knapford.

Well, we thankfully didn't run into any red mist, so there was no need to be worried about getting infected. When we pulled into the flour mill, we made a huge mistake. On a siding crashed through some buffers was an infected Rosie! When she saw us, she let out a roar and tried to get herself back onto the track! We didn't wait a single second and tore out of there! A second later, Rosie got back on the track and took off after us!

We ran as fast as we could, but Rosie was starting to catch up due to the large load Duck had to pull and push by himself. We raced past one pf the main set of sheds, and we started to go up the viaduct that went over the yard. Suddenly, we realized Rosie was set to go into the yard! She was couldn't stop and ended up smashing into the line of derailed trucks which were left there! We raced away from the yard as we heard the trucks screaming in terror!

We ran down the slope and felt a swerve as we were sent towards the other set of sheds! I slammed on Duck's brakes and we stopped just before the turntable well once again. Am I feeling a sense of déjà vu? We all had a moment to catch our breaths before we noticed a line of ballast trucks next to the sheds. We then heard a sound coming from the sheds; I walked up to the sheds and opened the doors, to our surprise, we found Donald and Neville! We were very surprised and happy to find more survivors! Donald was very happy to see Duck and Oliver, and they soon told us their stories.

Donald's Story:

He told us he was at Callan shunting a small ballast train with Douglas. Douglas needed to get turned around as he was filling up on water, but just when he was about to, everything went to hell. A plane flew over the station and started dropping the red mist! It then started to make its way over to Douglas, and Douglas quickly started to back up.  He had to pass through a cloud of the red mist, and he started coughing as he backed into the shed. Donald quickly took off as fast as he could with the plane hot on his tender!

He sped down the line at speeds he had never gone before! The plane kept pace with him, but Donald was determined to get away. As he entered Knapford harbour, he passed by a very slow Emily with her coaches heading in the other direction. As he got a bit of a distance from her, he heard her screaming in pain! He wanted to help her but knew there was nothing he could do, and continued on running. He saw Billy in a small shed next to the line. Donald whistled at him to make a run for it, and he did! He then saw another few planes over Knapford station as he neared it, before he could react to them, he saw Diesel and Rosie in the yards. He yelled at them to run, which was followed by Rosie crashing her trucks! Diesel took off and Rosie quickly reversed away! Just as he neared the set of sheds near the station, he got sent towards them, and came to a stop as Billy ran past heading towards the station! As he got onto the turntable to turn around, he heard Billy scream in pain as he saw more red mist being dropped! He quickly backed into the sheds and his driver shut the doors.

Neville's Story:

He told us he was at Crosby with a goods train bound for Tidmouth. Dennis was shunting in the yard nearby. He was about to leave when the Gordon came racing through the station yelling at Neville to run! A plane had been chasing Gordon and it started dropping some mist. Dennis tried to escape, but he smashed into a line of trucks he had just shunted! Neville wanted to help him, but there was nothing he could do. He quickly sped out of the station just before some of the mist landed on him!

He soon escaped Crosby and sped down the line faster than he had ever gone before. He sped through Henry's tunnel and was approaching Knapford when the coupling between him and his train snapped! He then saw Billy who was starting to be infected speeding towards him! Neville quickly switched lines as Billy smashed into his runaway train! Neville sped through the station as the passengers were also screaming in pain. He ran towards the sheds and quickly stopped in front of them as his driver opened the doors. Once he made it inside, he quickly noticed Donald, and they explained what had happened to each other. Ever since, they had all been staying in this shed.

After they finished their stories, we told them of our experiences, and they were upset to hear what we had already been through. I thought we should check the station to see if there was any food to eat as by this point I hadn't had anything to eat in more than a day, and I was starving. We pulled up to the platform and saw several people on the platform dead; I felt sick walking past all the dead bodies, and even more concerned if some of them would wake up and be zombies too. I quickly checked the M.C BUNN, but all their food was covered in red mold which made me want to vomit. I then noticed Sir Topham Hatt's office, and noticed that the door was closed, so if there was any food in there, it should be okay! I walked over to the door, and opened it. And to my surprise, I found the man himself! He was shocked to see me but was happy nonetheless. I took him outside and he was ecstatic to see Duck! We told him about Donald, Oliver, and Neville at the sheds, and we took him over to them. After everyone was settled, he told us his story.

Sir Topham Hatt's Story:

He was here at Knapford. Gordon and Thomas were at the platform waiting to leave with their passenger trains. Emily was also on the far side of the station with her passenger train. He was about to board Gordon's express when several planes appeared over the station! He quickly dashed into his office and shut the door just as Gordon and Thomas sped off! Emily sped out a few seconds after. He saw the people outside starting to pass out as Billy ran through the station starting to scream in pain followed by Neville running past. After he took a moment to calm down, he decided to listen to his radio to hear if there was a broadcast on this whole thing, and thankfully there was. Apparently there had been planes at almost all the Mainline stations on the island, along with a few of the branches, including Ffarquhar, Tidmouth Halt, Brendam, and a few others. After that, he just stayed in his office and survived off the food he had stored in there.

After Topham finished his story; we heard the sound of a diesel coming towards us. We all readied ourselves for an attack but thankfully that wasn't needed. Diesel himself rolled up to the sheds, and he seemed a bit shaken. Duck was not happy to see Diesel at all but Topham gave Duck a look that now was not the time for an argument. We welcomed Diesel into the sheds and he decided to tell us what happened to him.

Diesel's Story:

Diesel was shunting in the yard with Rosie when they saw some planes over at the station. They suddenly heard the screams of people and Donald flew by on the viaduct yelling at them both to run, following him was Billy who ran past them too. Rosie accidentally derailed her trucks why trying to go forward! Diesel took off going and ran for the big set of sheds further away from the station. Once he reached the shed, his driver shut the doors in case any helicopters came by.

Earlier today, he woke up to us running past being chased by Rosie! At the time, he didn't know she was a monster, and proceeded to follow us. When he saw Rosie crashed in the yard, he went to go help her, but then realized what she'd become! He raced backwards before she broke free from the trucks! He stopped just past a set of track points which Rosie was sent on causing her to derail! Diesel then went and hid inside one of the shipping buildings for the next hour to recover. Afterwards, he came out and found us here.

When he finished, we all felt sorry for him and told him that everything would be alright, expect Duck who still looked ticked off. Now that we've heard more stories from different prospectives, this posses the question of where other people and engines could be; I just hope we find more survivors soon. We decided to stay here for the night as we feel like it's safer to rest for a while considering we had so much happen today. We're planning on splitting up tomorrow to search more of the island since we now have five engines, but we'll probably have to make it 4 since Oliver still doesn't have a crew. Hopefully it all goes to plan, but we'll have to wait and see.
