MK had frozen, the creature in front of them had MK pinned with its gaze, and looming over them.
The old Doctor next to MK had also frozen up, looking like a deer in headlights.
The General however, didn't have that hesitation, and moved behind MK to grab the Doctor and began to drag him back while speaking with clenched teeth.
"Go! Run! Leave it to Monster Killer!"
MKs back straightened as if someone had shoved a cattle prod up their butt.
"Me what do-"
MK took their eyes off of the creature for only a moment, but a moment was enough.
The Infested Beast sensed the diversion of attention, and struck.
It lunged forward at a speed that a thing of that size had any right to have, and clamped down on MK.
Fear
The spearing pincers impaled deep enough to be fatal for any normal human, and no further, but the pain seemed to be a small, faraway thing.
The fear was overwhelming.
MK screamed and grabbed the pincers, their strength against the monster to free themselves.
But the weight behind the monsters strike pushed MK off balance, almost bringing them to the ground.
"No!"
The Doctor yelled in horror as the beast struck MK, but was grabbed by the General.
"Leave it! Our forces are gathering on the surface. MK will buy us time!"
"But-"
"There's nothing you can do Tabula!"
MKs eyes were pinned on the beast that was pushing against them, but the sounds of running footsteps faded into the distance.
The words "buy us time" rang in MKs head, and the truth struck like a bullet.
Earth is invaded by giant, nigh-invulnerable alien monsters.
To fight them, the government transfers a digitized human mind into the body of an Invader.
