BUNNY
The number of dates I had been to was low. I didn’t have much experience with them, but I had never been as nervous as I was today. Since I was off from work, Keegan had asked me out on a date before I left his room in the morning. With no plans for the day, I had accepted, and now I was a nervous mess. Knowing what we had done the night before made the fact that I was nervous funny. He had already seen all of me, and I had seen all of him. Just thinking about it made me blush. I didn’t even know what to wear, but asking Emil for help had been a mistake.
“So? Where are you going today?” My friend asked with curious eyes.
“What? Why do you ask?” I said, standing next to my closet.
“Well. You want me to help you pick clothes, and that means you are going out.” He said, looking into my closet and then back to me with an arched brow and knowing eyes. “But the question is with who?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know. I know you do.” I rolled my eyes and huffed.
“But I want to hear it from you.” He said, never looking away from me. Defeated, I let out a sigh.
“Keegan. It’s with Keegan. Are you happy?” I said with an arched brow.
“Yes, I am. So you guys are giving it a try?” He asked with curiosity.
“Kind of. We are just living in the present.” I explained, and he nodded.
“Huh. Cool, cool, cool.” He said and then turned back to the closet again. “Now clothes time.”
“Thank you for helping me even when you are so busy with practice.” I said, trying to change the topic from the date situation. “You okay? Competitions start next week, right?”
“Yes. I am okay, not nervous at all. Just need to prepare myself mentally so see that asshole.” He let out a sigh, picking some clothes for me.
“Samir? You think he finally gave up on me?” I asked. Samir was Emil’s rival, and the alpha not only wanted me to join his agency to compete, but he also had a massive crush on me.
“I hope so. He is so annoying.” Emil said with a frown, but I noticed something else in his expression, but before I could ask, he continued. “But enough of that, let's pick you some clothes.”

At the time of our meetup, I walked outside the house and saw Keegan already waiting for me. He was standing next to Maverick’s car, looking at his phone. He must have sensed me because he looked up from the screen at me. I saw the exact moment when he took a deep breath. I had to thank Emil for helping me pick my clothes. I walked to him with a smile and looked around to see if we had curious eyes around us. Once I was sure there were none, I left a soft peck on Keegan’s lips.
“Hi, babe. Did you wait long?” I greeted him with a soft smile.
“Well, hello to you too, Bunbun. You sure know how to take a man’s breath away.” He said with a chuckle. “You look beautiful today.”
“Thank you. You look great, too.” I said with a flirty smile and then asked. “Shall we go?”
“Yes. After you.” He said, and as the gentleman he was, he opened the front door for me, and after I was inside, he closed it and walked around the car to the driver’s seat.
“Good luck on your date!” I heard someone scream from outside before Keegan closed his door.
“Busted.” Keegan said. We looked into each other's eyes and laughed. Soon we were on our way to town, and I couldn’t help but show my curiosity.
“So what are the plans for today?” I asked him. Keegan had taken over the planning for today.
“We are going to a cafe, and then we are watching a movie.” He answered while driving.
“Which movie?” I asked, curious.
“A romantic comedy that is currently playing in theaters.” He mentioned.
“I didn’t take you for a romantic comedy type.” I jokingly said.
“I am not. But it was either that, a kids' movie, or a horror movie. There weren’t many choices.” He said with a chuckle.
“Sounds good to me then.” I said with a smile.
The rest of the drive, we continued to talk about other things. Keegan told me more about his job and about his best friend, Marco. I was curious about the guy since I had never met a tech whisperer before. We ended up discussing the competitions taking place next week, and I decided to warn Keegan that it was going to be a hectic time. However, I decided to avoid talking about Emil’s rival. He didn’t need to know about him. After arriving in town, he drove familiar roads and then stopped in front of a familiar cafe, Deja Brew. The scent of coffee attacked my nose as soon as we entered the store.
“What would you like?” Keegan asked me with curiosity, and then looked at the extensive menu as we formed in line to order.
“A Carrot Cake Latte. And you?” I said with a smile.
“Carrot Cake, what? That exists?” He looked at me, confused at my order.
“Yes, it’s an exclusive here.” I explained. “I’ll let you try it if you want.”
“So rabbit shifters are carrot lovers, huh?” He said a bit jokingly, and I decided to turn his joke into another way.
“We sure are. All types of carrots.” I said with a wink and noticed a soft blush on his cheeks at my insinuation.
“Hello, what is your order?” I heard a familiar voice ask as it was our turn in the line. I locked eyes with the omega behind the counter, and a big smile showed up on his face. “Meadow! Hi, boo. The usual for you, right?”
“You know him?” Keegan asked with curious eyes, and I nodded.
“Hi, Ezra. Yes, the usual for me.” I greeted the omega behind the counter. Ezra was the owner of Deja Brew and another fellow rabbit shifter. “It’s good to see you.”
“Same about you. We never hang out; you are always busy at the ranch. I’ve missed you.” He said with a frown.
“I have missed you, too.” I said with an apologetic smile. “I promise to make some time for you.”
“You better.” He warned me and then turned to look at Keegan. “And what would you like to order, Owen?”
“Owen? Uhm…” Keegan was baffled at Ezra’s mistake. I held back a chuckle and decided to save him.
“Ezra, this is Keegan Beackman. He is Owen’s twin brother.” I said, holding back from laughing. “Keegan, this is Ezra. He is the owner of this cafe.”
“Oh. Oh…Oh! I’m so sorry for confusing you. I didn’t know he had a twin brother.” The omega said, embarrassed at his mistake.
“It’s okay. I have been away for years.” Keegan said, trying to reassure Ezra.
“Still, I’m so sorry. I will give you some donuts on the house with your order.” He said, apologetic.
“You don’t have to, Ezra.” I mentioned, but the omega shook his head.
“I want to. Now what would you like to drink, Keegan?” Ezra asked the alpha.
After taking Keegan’s order, Ezra sent us away to a table with a box of donuts. The alpha was still speechless at the interaction and especially at getting free food from it. His face said it all, and I couldn’t help but finally laugh when we sat at an empty table in the corner of the store.
“That has never happened to me before.” Keegan mentioned with a sigh.
“I can tell. But don’t blame Ezra, he just didn’t know of your existence.” I said with an understanding smile.
“Do we look that much alike?” He asked, still perplexed with the situation.
“Kind of, but I can tell you apart, and I’m sure everyone in the family does too.” I mentioned.
“How so?” He asked with curiosity.
“You are way too different in personality and how you dress. Owen is more townsie and a rancher, while you give more big city fancy, casual guy.” I tried my best to explain.
“I don’t see it, but I will trust you.” He said with a sigh.
“Also, Owen keeps his beard short while you keep it longer and well-groomed,” I added as a fun fact, and then said. “Makes you look handsome too.”
“You like my beard?” He asked with a flirty smile.
“I do.” I said, smiling back at him.
Ezra called out our names, and Keegan went to pick our drinks up. While we drank and ate the donuts, we continued to talk about our lives. Watching Keegan’s passion when speaking about technology was fascinating, and he even took the time to explain some things in terms I would understand, too. He kept eyeing my drink with curiosity, and after convincing him to try it, he understood why I liked it so much. After we were done with our drinks and the donuts, we threw away the trash and walked on the way to the movie theater. Keegan loved to eat snacks while watching movies, so as soon as we arrived, we walked up to the food counter and ordered what we wanted.
“Do you want to buy something else? Chocolate? Peanuts?” Keegan asked before closing our order and paying.
“Nope. No peanuts.” I shook my head.
“Why? You don’t like them?” He asked with an arched brow.
“Yeah, I don’t like them.” I said and took the opportunity to flirt with him once again. “But I do like another type of nut.”
“Okay. Taking a mental note of that.” Keegan said with a smirk. We grabbed our food and then walked into the room where the movie was screening.
The movie had been great; it was cheesy but entertaining to watch. The romance had been just enough, and Keegan had even kissed me in some moments. Our hands were intertwined during the whole movie, and even now, as we walked back to the car after having dinner at a restaurant.
“Today was fantastic. I can’t wait for the next time.” I mentioned with a big smile. It had been a while since I had been on a date, but I knew I had fun because I was with Keegan.
“Me too. But we are not over yet. I have one more plan.” He said with a grin.
“Oh. What is it? Tell me.” I asked with curiosity.
“You and me. Back home in my room. No clothes in bed.” He described, and I connected the dots. A soft blush burned in my cheeks.
“Oh. Are you going to give me the kind of nut that I like?” I asked with mischief.
“Nut and a carrot, yes.” Keegan said flirty and I couldn’t wait to get to eat those.
