Silence
Izuku Midoriya saw memories flashing before his eyes.
His mother playing with him as a child.
Her warm smile.
Her gentle voice.
The way she always supported him… no matter what.
“You can become a hero too, Izuku”
Then
The image changed.
Blood
Her body lying on the ground.
“MOM!”
Midoriya suddenly woke up.
Heavy breathing.
Sweat covered his face.
He looked around.
The nurse’s office at U.A.
Recovery Girl stood beside him.
“Oh, thank goodness,” she said with relief.
“You’re finally awake.”
“Don’t move too much. Both of your arms are still badly broken.”
She called Eraserhead inside.
As he entered, he saw Midoriya sitting silently on the bed, both arms covered in bandages.
“How are you feeling?” Eraserhead asked quietly.
Midoriya slowly raised his eyes.
“…Where is All For One?”
Eraserhead froze for a moment.
Those eyes…
They were the same eyes from that day.
Eyes of someone who had already lost everything.
Someone ready to die.
“We captured him,” Eraserhead replied.
“He’s back in Tartarus.”
Before Midoriya could respond
Recovery Girl suddenly interrupted.
“Forget about him for now!”
“You woke up after four days.”
“Your arms are still in terrible condition.”
“If you fight like that again… you could lose them forever.”
Eraserhead nodded.
“She’s right.”
“Get some rest. Your friends are worried about you.”
“We’ll talk later.”
A little time passed.
Eventually, Eraserhead brought Midoriya back to the dorms.
The moment he entered
Everyone rushed toward him.
“Midoriya!”
“How are you feeling?!”
“Are you okay now?!”
Midoriya forced a small smile.
“…Yeah. I’m fine.”
“Thanks for asking.”
But while answering
He noticed Bakugo standing far away.
Not looking at him.
Not saying a word.
Eraserhead stepped forward.
“Don’t crowd him too much.”
“His arms are still injured.”
“Let him rest.”
Midoriya nodded.
“…Yeah.”
“I’d like to sleep a little more.”
He and Eraserhead walked into his room.
The door closed.
Midoriya’s expression changed instantly.
“You can tell me now.”
Eraserhead stayed silent for a moment before speaking.
“…Your mother and All Might are dead.”
“The situation in Japan is getting worse.”
“Crime has already risen twenty percent in just four days.”
“We heroes are trying our best to capture the escaped villains.”
He lowered his head slightly.
“…I’m sorry, Midoriya.”
“We weren’t able to save them in time.”
Midoriya looked down quietly.
Then calmly replied
“…It’s fine.”
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“…Or anyone else’s.”
He slowly lay back on the bed.
“Sorry… but can you leave me alone?”
“I want to sleep.”
Eraserhead nodded.
“…Sure.”
As he left the room, he spoke to the others outside.
“Don’t disturb him.”
“Give him some time.”
Hours passed.
Morning turned into afternoon.
Everyone gathered for breakfast.
But Midoriya never came out of his room.
“He probably just needs more rest…” someone said.
After everything that happened… nobody questioned it.
But more time passed.
Still no sign of Midoriya.
Now everyone was getting worried.
Bakugo suddenly stood up.
Without saying anything, he walked toward Midoriya’s room.
He knocked once.
“…Deku.”
No response.
His expression darkened.
“If you’re in there… move away from the door.”
BOOM!!
Bakugo blasted the door open.
Everyone froze.
The room…
Was empty.
Midoriya…
Was gone.
