September, 26. 1998.

Well, it's been quite a while since I wrote in this, but I thought I'd give you all an update on how everything is going. It took about a week, but all the engines that had been infected were finally back to normal! After that was all taken care of, we were finally able to return to the island! We did also find 3 more engines we didn't find before, Harvey, Philip, and Stafford! They had all been hiding in the back of Vicarstown yards for quite sometime, but we were just happy that they were alright. In other news, work resumed on September 1st! And all the engines were happy to get back to work.

All of the engines that died due to the chemical in the red mist were taken to the scrapyard and melted down. We held a memorial outside Knapford last week, and some of the engines are still recovering. Here's a list of all the engines that died.

Since so many engines died, Sir Topham Hatt has been trying to find new engines to replace the engines that died. The only new engine we've gotten so far is a pink saddle tank from the GWR named Mya, but she actually goes by Amy after an event that was held on her old heritage railway; she's a very kind and helpful engine and all the engines have grown a good friendship with her including Duck. Speaking of Duck, he's been doing great!

He's been slowly recovering over the last several weeks, but with the help of Oliver and Donald, he's been feeling much better. Before I continue, I feel like I should mention Douglas. He sadly passed away 2 days after we got off the island, and the others haven't taken his death well, especially Donald. I wish we could've saved him, but there was really nothing we could've done; at least he died peacefully. Moving on, I was re-united with my family, and after they heard my story, they were shocked to hear everything I had been through.

A few other things I should quickly mention are that Diesel 10, Arry, and Bert just stayed in the Ironworks the entire time, which is understandable. They all got off the island shortly after we did. The miniature engines made it out which was great! And we also found out that several road vehicles survived, including Bertie, Jack, Alfie, Nelson, and Kelly. I'm not going to explain how they all survived as we'd be here all day.

Well, I think that's about it. This was one hell of a ride but I'm more than happy that it's all over. I'll probably put this journal away somewhere so it can be forgotten about, as I feel it would be for the best that this whole thing is never spoken of again.
