A Night Full Of Memories

A Night Full Of Memories

May 22, 2026

Then slowly—

Yun hugged the teddy bear Tae bought earlier before falling backward onto the bed.

A small smile slowly appeared on his lips without realizing it.

“…I think I’m going crazy.”

Meanwhile—

Late at night, Tae finally arrived home.

The moment he entered the living room, he immediately saw his father sitting comfortably on the sofa while watching the news.

The Chairman slowly lowered the newspaper after noticing Tae.

Then casually patted the empty space beside him.

“Come sit.”

Tae quietly walked over before sitting beside him.

Almost immediately, his father started speaking.

“What happened?”

His tone remained calm.

“Kim Joo told me you left Busan first.”

Then he narrowed his eyes slightly.

“You didn’t even come home.”

“I called you several times, but you never picked up.”

His father crossed one leg over the other while staring directly at Tae.

“So where did you go?”

“And where did you sleep?”

For a brief second—

Tae remained silent.

Then finally—

A small smile appeared on his lips without realizing it.

“I went to meet my puppy.”

His father immediately raised one eyebrow.

“…Puppy?”

Tae leaned back against the sofa casually.

“And the next day we went on a date.”

“That’s all.”

The Chairman instantly looked interested.

“Oho…”

A teasing grin slowly appeared on his face.

“Did you enjoy it?”

Tae’s eyes softened slightly.

“…Yeah.”

Then quietly—

“A lot.”

For a moment, he remembered Yun smiling inside the Ferris wheel.

The matching headbands.

The restaurant.

The kiss.

The teddy bear.

And unconsciously—

Another faint smile appeared on his lips.

“I think I’ll remember that day until I die.”

For a brief second—

Tae’s father simply stared at him quietly.

Then suddenly—

He laughed softly.

“…Looks like my son really grew up.”

Tae rolled his eyes slightly.

Meanwhile, the Chairman’s expression slowly became more serious afterward.

“By the way,” he said calmly, “what happened in Busan?”

“Kim Joo told me you handled Hyuk.”

“Is everything alright?”

Tae nodded once.

“Everything’s fine.”

Then he continued calmly,

“They accepted the alliance.”

“We’re going to work together to take down Black Dog.”

His father quietly listened.

Then Tae added,

“And during the alliance party, Seok Jin introduced me to Dojin.”

“The Black Crow leader.”

At that—

The Chairman suddenly smiled faintly.

“…Dojin.”

“Yeah,” Tae replied. “He told me if I ever needed help, I could contact him.”

The moment Tae finished speaking—

His father leaned back comfortably against the sofa.

“Of course he did.”

Then casually—

“We used to be friends.”

Tae blinked once.

“…Friends?”

“Very close friends,” his father corrected proudly.

“We even went to the same college.”

Now Tae looked slightly interested.

Meanwhile, his father suddenly grinned mischievously.

“Baby.”

Tae instantly frowned.

“…Stop calling me that.”

But the Chairman completely ignored him.

“Do you want to hear something interesting?”

Tae sighed tiredly.

“…Hm. Fine.”

Immediately—

His father looked satisfied before starting his story.

“Back then, me and Dojin studied in the same college.”

“We were in the same class too.”

“At first we fought a lot.”

Then he laughed softly.

“But somehow we eventually became best friends.”

Tae quietly listened while leaning against the sofa.

“We shared almost everything with each other.”

“So one day, I told him the truth.”

The Chairman pointed toward himself dramatically.

“That I was the han's group Chairman’s son.”

“And secretly the leader of Tiger Gang.”

Tae already looked exhausted hearing the dramatic storytelling.

But his father continued proudly anyway.

“And surprisingly—”

“He wasn’t shocked at all.”

“Because that bastard looked at me and said he was the Black Crow heir too.”

Tae slightly raised one eyebrow.

“Even though our groups were rivals,” his father continued, “our friendship never broke.”

Then slowly—

A nostalgic smile appeared on his face.

“But everything changed after the new freshmen joined.”

“There was one girl.”

Immediately—

The Chairman pointed upward dramatically again.

“The prettiest girl in the entire college.”

“She joined the Literature Club.”

Then he scoffed proudly.

“Me and Dojin were in the Sports Club at the time.”

“Obviously we tried recruiting her.”

“But she rejected us immediately.”

Tae quietly laughed under his breath.

“She was smart,” his father continued.

“Very smart.”

“That’s why she joined the English Literature Club.”

Then proudly—

“She even had several Taekwondo medals.”

For some reason, Tae already understood why his father liked her.

Then after a brief pause—

The Chairman placed one hand dramatically against his chest.

“And the moment me and Dojin saw her…”

“We both fell in love at first sight.”

Tae instantly looked unimpressed.

“…Seriously?”

“I’m serious.”

Then proudly—

“So we made a bet.”

Tae already looked like he regretted listening.

His father continued anyway.

“We agreed that if she fell for one of us…”

“The other person had to give up completely.”

“And never interfere in the relationship.”

“That was the bet.”

Then suddenly—

The Chairman started laughing while remembering the past.

“We did everything to impress her.”

“Secret gifts.”

“Letters.”

“Confessions.”

“We even directly proposed to her.”

Tae looked slightly surprised.

“And?”

His father sighed dramatically.

“She rejected both of us.”

Tae immediately laughed quietly.

“So how did Mom fall in love with you?”

Instantly—

The Chairman leaned back confidently.

“Easy.”

“She fell for me.”

Tae looked unconvinced immediately.

“…How?”

“You literally just said she rejected both of you.”

The Chairman instantly leaned forward proudly.

“That’s because you still don’t understand charm.”

Tae already looked done with the conversation.

Then proudly—

His father continued.

“One day me and Dojin were playing volleyball.”

“She came to watch us.”

“Obviously both of us tried showing off.”

Tae sighed quietly.

“But then—”

The Chairman slowly pushed his hair back dramatically with one hand.

“While fixing my hair like this…”

His eyes sparkled proudly.

“She fell for me instantly.”

For a brief second—

Complete silence filled the living room.

Then Tae slowly stared at his father with a blank expression.

“…There’s no way Mom fell for you because of that.”

Immediately—

The Chairman looked offended.

“What do you mean no way?!”

“That was my peak moment!”

Then after calming down slightly, his expression slowly softened.

“After that…”

“Dojin kept his promise.”

“He gave up.”

“And never interfered with our relationship again.”

For a brief second—

The atmosphere became quieter.

Then the Chairman slowly looked toward the television silently.

“Eventually… he left college.”

“And after that…”

His voice became calmer now.

“We slowly became rivals.”

Tae quietly listened without interrupting.

Then after a while—

The Chairman suddenly smiled faintly again.

“But even now…”

“He’s still one of the few people I truly trust.”

“…And that’s how I married your mom,” the Chairman said proudly while pointing toward himself dramatically.

“Then my baby was born.”

He looked directly at Tae afterward.

“And honestly?”

“I’m very proud of myself.”

Tae immediately looked exhausted.

Meanwhile, his father suddenly laughed softly while leaning back against the sofa.

“But after marrying her, I realized something terrifying.”

Tae already looked like he regretted listening.

His father sighed dramatically.

“Your mother is actually more dangerous than me.”

Then quietly—

“But I still love her.”

For a brief second, his expression softened slightly.

“…Ah, I miss her.”

He glanced toward his phone afterward.

“When is she finally coming back from her trip…”

Meanwhile—

Tae silently stood up from the sofa after listening to the entire story.

At this point, his expression looked completely drained.

“I’m going upstairs.”

His father immediately frowned.

“What?”

“That’s it?”

“You’re not even going to appreciate your father’s legendary love story?”

Tae started walking toward the stairs without looking back.

“I think Mom suffered a lot.”

“YAH—”

Ignoring his father’s offended shouting downstairs, Tae quietly entered his room afterward.

The moment the door closed behind him—

The silence instantly felt peaceful.

Afterward, Tae took a warm shower before lying down on his bed.

But even while staring at the ceiling—

His thoughts slowly drifted toward Yun again.

The Ferris wheel.

The kiss.

Yun’s tears.

His smile.

Unconsciously—

A small smile slowly appeared on Tae’s lips again.

Then quietly, he closed his eyes.

And waited for morning to come—

So he could see Yun again at college.
