Huh... He's serious... So... is that weird... am I making it weird...? Ley overthought, quickly dismissing his thoughts to get up, knowing Felix was expecting him.
Alright... Calming breaths... In... and out... Ley stood outside Felix's door, staring at the doorknob as he pondered whether to reach out for it.
He's outside... and he's clearly anxious. Should I open the door? Or would that scare him more? Felix hesitated, standing in front of the door.
Felix's hesitation proved to be the best decision after hearing Ley outside the door, clearly not anxious to enter anymore.
"Alright. Let's do this," Ley whispered courageously.
But before Ley could even grasp the doorknob, Felix had already swiftly run to his bed, hastily running to the other side of his room.
"Hel—lo..." Ley awkwardly greeted as he slowly entered the room, leaning back against the door as he closed it.
The two awkwardly stared at each other, with Ley who's against the door, and Felix, who's sitting at his bed.
Shit. This atmosphere is uncomfortable, and so is the position I'm in against this door right now. Ley kept to himself, utilizing his poker face to an extent.
Huh... what do I say...? Or do...? Ley's mind wandered, only to realize his eyes were uncontrollably scanning the room.
Oh... No decorations... or personality-coded items... Just the essentials and TV. Ley thought. He's totally not the typical rich boy I usually watch on screen. Or are the ones I watch the weird ones, or is he?
Yeah... I'm pretty sure it's rude to determine if someone's weird or not while in front of them... Ley gazed at the wall, expressing an awkward smile. Alright! Enough awkwardness! Let's just consider this as practice.
"That TV is huge," Ley said, pointing at it.
"Yeah, thanks," Felix responded, though his tone still filled with silent awkwardness.
"I'll just grab this—" Ley declared, his eyes staring at the desk chair in front of him.
"Come, sit beside... me," Felix involuntarily interrupted. "Oh... sorry. You can grab that chair if it will make you comfortable."
"Hmm... You already offered, so I will gladly take it," Ley answered humorously, clearly unbothered by the interruption.
I can't sense any hint of awkwardness like before... His behavior entirely changed... Is he the same person from a moment ago? Felix's thoughts rambled as he stared at Ley who was just comfortably sitting next to him in his bed.
"Hey... are you okay?" Ley asked softly, noticing Felix's blank stare.
"Yeah—yeah, here," Felix responded, quickly snapping out of it as he handed the remote control of the TV to Ley.
"You have a lovely bed," Ley reiterated his compliment. "My bed never felt this gentle, soft, and warm."
"Is that so?" Felix asked in confusion and curiosity.
"Yeah. It feels nice just to sit on it. Thanks for sharing your bed," Ley expressed happily.
He's expressive, huh... In an oversharing way, too. But it feels nice. Felix stared at Ley in satisfaction as he navigated his way to finding a recommended show, movie, or even anime for Felix.
Hmm... Not this one, nor this... Ley focused his attention onto the bright screen in front of him as he quickly pressed the arrow buttons on the remote.
Unaware of it, Felix found himself happily staring at the sight of Ley as he searched for a recommendation on the television.
How could someone's eyes look this gleeful finding a recommendation? Felix wondered.
The color of the light emitting from the screen stopped, making Felix realize he had been staring at Ley the whole time he'd been navigating the streaming app.
"How about this?" Ley turned to Felix, asking him.
The Ms. Pat Show. An American television sitcom featuring a Black family. Hmm... Just a little test to see if he's racist... or not, hehe. Ley thought.
"Or not? I can go find another if it's not your type," Ley said unexcitedly.
"No–no," Felix gestured. "Since you recommended it, I'm sure it's great, so let's watch it."
No repulsed reaction... just a neutral reaction. I guess he's not a racist. Though I'm not sure if it's racist of me to say that I didn't expect him not to be one... Ley considered.
After concluding Felix is not a racist person, Ley behaved exactly like he does when he puts on a show—exceptionally relaxed.
Felix sat on the left side of his bed, witnessing Ley raise his feet onto the bed and cover it with the foam blanket as he made himself comfortable.
He looks incredibly relaxed and comfortable... It would be rude and awkward to point it out, so I won't. Felix figured.
The once uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere later grew to be comfortable and relaxed; perhaps it was because of Ley's easygoing attitude, as it was sure to be incredibly infectious.
Felix, slightly jealous that Ley was comfortable in his own bed, also made himself comfortable in his own bed—slowly and gently raising his legs onto the bed and lying relaxed on the pillows on his back—so as not to spook Ley.
Fifteen minutes into the thirty-minute pilot episode has passed, and Ley has already giggled uncontrollably loud, unbothered by the fact that he's literally right next to Felix.
Though Felix found the jokes on the sitcom funny too, he found himself envious of Ley's expressiveness.
I don't know why I'm always jealous of people who are expressive. Is it because I am not? Felix wondered.
But I'm not feeling malicious envy like I used to towards Ley, so that's pretty good considering he's the trigger. Felix felt relief yet was still bothered by the fact.
Felix didn't want to ponder any longer, dismissing it quickly, as he was already accustomed to Ley's energetic and full-of-laughs attitude.
The episode was almost about to end, but Felix heard himself snicker at the last joke made.
Felix got up from the relaxed position he had made for himself earlier after realizing that the room had become filled with uncharacteristic silence.
He saw Ley on the other side of the bed, eyes closed and curled up on the foamy blanket, sleeping quietly and satisfied.
He leaned over in an attempt to wake him up but stopped, realizing he shouldn't because that might cause distress to the trigger.
It bothered him that that wasn't his first reason to stop, because even with the mission engraved in his mind and body, he just didn't want to wake Ley up.
Carefully and patiently, he got up on the bed and toggled the lights off.
Though dimly lit, Felix could still see the sight of Ley invading the bed as if he were a reverse colonizer occupying the bed.
And just as he carefully and patiently got out of the bed, he swooped back into the bed in the same manner.
But he couldn't position himself like he used to, so now he lies in his own bed—awkward and stiff.
Wow... the bed is... soft, gentle, and warm... Felix exhaled as his eyes slowly succumbed to the exhaustion and darkness of his room, successfully falling asleep.
