Our Love Our Respect

Chapter 4 — The Confession

Chapter 4 — The Confession

May 26, 2026

After that night, everything changed quietly between them.

Not loudly.

Not dramatically.

Just small changes.

Dangerous changes.

Ploy started smiling more without realizing it.

Ananya started waiting for her messages before sleeping.

Their conversations became longer.

Softer.

More personal.

And sometimes…

silence itself became intimate.

—

One week later, Ploy stood inside the café holding two travel tickets excitedly.

Ananya blinked in confusion.

“What’s this?”

“Vacation.”

“What?”

“You work too much.”

“I cannot randomly go on vacation.”

“You can.”

“No.”

“You already sound tired.”

Ananya crossed her arms stubbornly.

“I have responsibilities.”

Ploy leaned closer slightly.

“And I have bubble tea blackmail material.”

Ananya tried not to laugh.

“You’re impossible.”

“I’m rich and dramatic. Let me use my talents.”

Ananya finally laughed helplessly.

And that laugh became Ploy’s favorite victory.

—

Two days later, they arrived in Phuket.

The island felt unreal.

Blue ocean.

Golden sunsets.

Warm winds carrying salt through the air.

For the first time in months, Ananya looked completely relaxed.

Ploy noticed everything.

The way Ananya smiled at children playing near the beach.

The way she removed her slippers immediately to feel sand beneath her feet.

The way peace softened her eyes.

Beautiful.

Painfully beautiful.

—

That evening, they walked beside the ocean during sunset.

The sky burned orange and pink around them.

Neither spoke much.

Some moments become too beautiful for unnecessary words.

Ananya looked toward the horizon quietly.

“I used to dream about traveling like this.”

Ploy smiled softly.

“What stopped you?”

“Life.”

The answer came too quickly.

Too honestly.

Ploy understood immediately.

Some people grow up carrying responsibilities before happiness.

She looked down at the sand beneath her feet.

“My life always looked perfect from outside.”

Ananya turned toward her slowly.

“But?”

Ploy laughed softly without happiness.

“But sometimes rich homes are emotionally empty.”

That sentence stayed between them painfully.

Ananya suddenly stopped walking.

Ploy looked at her.

Ananya’s eyes had softened again.

That dangerous softness.

“You don’t have to pretend with me.”

Ploy’s chest tightened immediately.

Nobody had ever said that to her before.

Not like this.

Not gently.

The ocean waves crashed quietly nearby.

And suddenly—

without thinking—

Ploy spoke.

“In another life…”

Ananya looked at her carefully.

“Maybe loving you would’ve been easy.”

Silence.

The world itself seemed to stop breathing.

Ploy immediately regretted saying it aloud.

Too much.

Too honest.

Too real.

She looked away quickly.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t—”

“Ploy.”

Her voice stopped her instantly.

Ploy turned slowly.

Ananya’s eyes were already filled with tears.

Not sadness.

Emotion.

Pure overwhelming emotion.

Then softly—

“Even in difficult lives…”

Ananya stepped closer carefully.

“I would still choose you.”

Ploy forgot how to breathe.

The sunset reflected softly in Ananya’s tear-filled eyes.

And for the first time in her life—

Ploy felt completely loved.

Not desired.

Not admired.

Loved.

For who she truly was.

No conditions.

No performance.

No pretending.

Just love.

Simple.

Terrifying.

Beautiful.

The wind moved gently around them.

Neither girl moved away.

Neither wanted to.

Ploy whispered shakily,

“Do you know how scared I am right now?”

Ananya nodded slowly.

“I am too.”

“Then why does this still feel right?”

Ananya smiled softly through tears.

“Because some hearts recognize each other before society understands them.”

That sentence broke something inside Ploy emotionally.

Years of loneliness.

Years of silence.

Years of pretending.

All suddenly collapsing at once.

Without realizing it, tears rolled down her face.

Ananya immediately reached forward instinctively.

“Hey…”

Ploy laughed weakly while crying.

“This is embarrassing.”

“No.”

Ananya gently wiped one tear from her cheek.

“You look honest.”

Ploy closed her eyes briefly at the warmth of her touch.

No one had ever touched her this carefully before.

Like she mattered.

Like her heart mattered.

Slowly…

hesitantly…

their hands found each other.

Fingers intertwining softly against the sound of ocean waves.

No dramatic kiss.

No loud confession.

Just hands.

Warmth.

Trust.

And love finally becoming real between them.

—

Later that night, they sat quietly near the beach café watching distant lights reflect across the ocean.

Ploy suddenly spoke softly.

“My father would never accept this.”

Ananya’s smile faded slightly.

“My family too.”

Reality entered the moment like cold rain.

Painful.

Unavoidable.

Ploy looked down slowly.

“Sometimes I wish we met in a kinder world.”

Ananya stared at her for a long moment.

Then gently squeezed her hand.

“Then let’s become kind enough for each other.”

Ploy’s eyes filled again immediately.

How does someone speak so softly while carrying so much strength?

At that moment—

Ploy silently realized something terrifying.

She was no longer simply falling in love with Ananya.

She was already deeply, completely emotionally attached to her.

And deep down—

both girls knew:

Love was now the happiest part of their lives.

And soon…

it would also become the most painful.
