(sighs)

I knew this was coming... Yes, go ahead.

THE FIDDLER

(Tentatively)

Ok. So you told me you weren't magic, then you said you were a Witch but not magic. Then Wickston said you froze a truck, “THEN”, out of nowhere you cast the most powerful spell I think I've ever seen in my life, using said magic you didn't have.

...Yes... that is a very accurate retelling of what just happened...

THE FIDDLER

...I was honest with you... Uri tell me the truth please. What's going on, really...?

Uri takes a massive, heavy sigh, but as he's about to speak, Nobody starts talking.

NOBODY

You're really gonna tell him? Who cares if he's a Demon, at least he isn't a monster.

THE FIDDLER

I won't think any less of you, if you don't think less of me...

Uri takes a deep breath, letting all the air out of his body. He lays Wickston down on the ground, he points his finger at The Fiddler.

Ok! I'll tell you...

(Beat)

Yes... I am a Witch, who is magic... but I...

NOBODY

You won't do it.

Uri hesitates for a moment.

URI

I'll say this... I'm a “special” kind of Witch... But I don't practice magic anymore... In fact... 

(Pause)

I hate it...

THE FIDDLER

You... hate it? As in magic...?

URI

Yes...

THE FIDDLER

I'm sorry... but what kind of Witch hates the very thing that makes them a Witch? 

NOBODY

You really thought he'd understand, cute.

URI

(Hollow)

Magic... is evil...

Another long pause, The Fiddler just stares at him in shock.

THE FIDDLER

Evil...?

URI

(serious)

Yes... Magic is an evil thing... It shouldn't exist in a world with people who will abuse it...

THE FIDDLER

But isn't the issue there the people, not the magic then?

URI

You don't understand... Magic drives people to madness... People will do anything to get their hands on magic... Steal... lie... kill... betray...  

(beat)

I've spent years watching as magic poisoned the people around me. Even me...

The Fiddler can't find anything to say; he just sits there looking at him. Uri slightly turns himself away from him so he can't see his face; he stares down at his hands as they begin to tremble...

URI

I never asked to be the Witch of Time... I never wanted to be the bringer of this... poison!

THE FIDDLER

Uri... I. I'm sorry. But did you say... Witch of Time!? Like THE witch of Time?!?!

NOBODY

Oh, here we go. Another who will only want you for what you can do for them.

THE FIDDLER

When you said a special kind of Witch, you really buried the lead... You really are special...

Uri turns back to him.

THE FIDDLER

I know what being chosen to be The Witch of Time is meant to mean. It's like one of the highest of magical honors. 

URI

It is no honor... If anything... it's a curse... 

(Beat)

It doesn't matter anymore...

I gave up my Reality Witch status years ago... 

And promised myself... To NEVER cast another spell again.

THE FIDDLER

Uri picks up Wickston, putting him back on his back to carry him. He begins walking away.

(Serious)

We should keep moving...
