After Chairman Han said those final words, his voice became completely cold and emotionless.
“I killed him, Tae.”
When he said those words, he looked directly into Tae’s eyes. There was neither guilt nor hesitation in his expression.
He simply looked at his son calmly, as though he had already accepted what he had done and had no intention of regretting it.
For a moment, Tae remained silent. he finally understood.
His father would go to any length to protect innocent people and those who depended on the Tigers, and whenever he believed something was necessary, he would do whatever he felt was right, regardless of how difficult or dangerous the decision might be.
That night, after listening to his father’s words, Tae learned something he would never forget.
If he wanted to protect people, he couldn't allow his emotions to control his decisions. He needed to think carefully. He needed to consider the consequences.
And before making any decision, he needed to think twice instead of allowing his feelings to cloud his judgment.
Even if doing what felt right meant breaking the law, Tae understood that sometimes a leader had to make difficult choices to protect the people who depended on him.
That day, Tae made a silent promise to himself.

For a while, his mind remained filled with the words his father had spoken, replaying each one again and again.
Then suddenly~
Chairman Han’s playful voice returned.
“Ahhh…”
“I think I’ve talked too much.”
From somewhere behind him, another voice calmly answered,
“Yes, sir.”
“You have talked too much.”
Chairman Han blinked twice. Slowly, he turned around. He hadn't even realized that Secretary Shin had already returned to the office.
For a brief moment, Chairman Han looked slightly embarrassed.
“Ahem…”
“When did you return, Secretary Shin?”
Secretary Shin hesitated.
He glanced to the left. Then to the right. He already knew that Chairman Han would become embarrassed if he answered honestly, and probably annoyed afterward as well. Finally, he cleared his throat.
“Hmm…”
“When you said, ‘Don’t let your emotions control you.’”
Chairman Han's face immediately became embarrassed. He stared at Secretary Shin for several seconds before quietly mumbling,
“Did I really say that?”
“I don’t think I would say something like that.”
Tae looked at his father.
Then at Secretary Shin.
For several seconds, he simply stared at the two of them.
Finally~
His patience snapped. He slammed his hand against the desk.
“Can you two stop this childish nonsense?”
“Just go home.”
“Both of you.”
Tae walked away from the couch and returned to his chair behind the desk before looking toward Kim Joo and Secretary Shin again.
“I said everyone should leave my office.”
Kim Joo immediately nodded.
“Yes, Young Master.”
Secretary Shin also quietly nodded. Chairman Han, however, walked toward Tae before leaving. For a moment, he simply stood beside his son.
He leaned down and hugged Tae for a few seconds.
Tae froze.
Chairman Han didn't say anything. He simply released him and walked toward the door. Tae remained completely still in his chair. For several seconds, he didn't even blink. Then he finally realized what had just happened.
His father had hugged him. And left. Tae's face immediately twisted with disbelief. He grabbed a small glass decoration from his desk and threw it toward the closing door.
“What the hell did you just do, you pervy father?!”
From outside the office~
Chairman Han's laughter echoed through the hallway. Tae clicked his tongue angrily and leaned back into his chair.
“Pervy father…”
He muttered under his breath before rubbing his forehead. After a while, Tae opened the computer system and pulled up the company's stock graph, staring at the constantly changing numbers while trying to clear his thoughts.
His phone rang. The name displayed on the screen made him pause.
**Lee Yun.**
Tae immediately answered.
A quiet voice came through the phone.
“Tae…”
The moment Tae heard Yun's voice, all the worries that had been filling his mind seemed to disappear, replaced by a single thought.
Yun.
He knew the path he had chosen was dangerous. He knew the business could become complicated. And he knew that his responsibilities as the leader of the Tigers would never disappear. But he still didn't want to leave.
Not Yun.
Not the people who depended on him.
Not the life he had chosen.
Suddenly, Yun's voice became louder through the phone.
“Tae?”
“Are you listening?”
Tae's entire body jerked slightly.
“Ah…”
“Yeah, I'm listening.”
“Tell me.”
Yun continued speaking softly.
“We have exams in a few days, right?”
“So…”
“Can we study tomorrow afternoon at a café?”
“Is that okay with you?”
Tae agreed without even thinking.
“Yeah.”
“After your café shift is finished, call me.”
“Okay?”
Yun quietly agreed.
“Okay.”
A few moments later, the call ended.
Yun stared at the phone for several seconds.
A small smile slowly appeared on his face.
His cheeks gradually turned warm, and his heartbeat suddenly felt strangely uneven.
After that he finished his shift at the convenience store and began walking toward the bus stop.
The night had already settled over the city, and the streets were quieter than they had been earlier.
A few distant headlights moved across the road while the cold breeze brushed against his face.
Soon, the last bus arrived.
There were only a few passengers inside. Yun stepped onto the bus and quietly took a seat beside the window.
As the bus began moving, the cool breeze entered through the slightly open window and brushed gently against his face.
He looked outside at the passing vehicles and blurred city lights.
For the first time in a long while~
He felt peaceful. There was no heavy pressure sitting on his chest. No overwhelming loneliness. No constant fear about tomorrow. He was simply happy. His days were changing.
And Tae was becoming a part of those days.
His thoughts drifted back toward the amusement park. The laughter. The memories. His words. The warmth of his presence. The kiss.
Everything still felt strangely unreal. Each memory brought a faint smile to Yun's face.
For so many years, Yun had lived alone.
Every day had felt almost exactly the same.
Work.
Study.
Sleep.
Repeat.
But now~
Things felt different.
A little warmer.
A little brighter.
Yun slowly rested his head against the window as the city lights continued passing outside. For a moment, he closed his eyes. Then he quietly murmured,
“Grandma…”
“I think the star you told me about has finally arrived.”
His fingers tightened slightly around his phone.
“Ever since Tae came into my life…”
“It feels like things are getting better.”
The bus continued moving through the quiet night.
For a moment, Yun imagined his grandmother smiling at him from somewhere far away, still watching over him and protecting him in whatever way she could.
The thought made his heart feel warm.
Then another thought crossed his mind.
His smile grow slightly wider.
“Ah…”
He rested his head more comfortably against the window.
“I miss him.”
His cheeks warmed slightly.
“I wish tomorrow would come faster.”
Outside the window, the city continued disappearing behind him as the bus carried him deeper into the night.
And for the first time in years~
Yun found himself genuinely looking forward to tomorrow.
