And to get there they drag us along with a string.

We sit behind computers, and write in a book,

We try not to work, but we can't get let off the hook.

We need to learn math, and english, and science,

But we still have to work and sit there in silence.

They say theres a voice and they tell us there's hope,

But we're punshed the second we even say a joke. 

I think school originally made to be merry,

A place for friends and learning, not very scary.

But it's become a place where academics beat all,

And those who struggle are left alone to fall.

Extraverts thrive, but introverts lose,

When you cant talk to people they don't give you view.

You don't get the credit for just trying hard,

When grades are celebrated and memories are marred.

They tell us to act our age, and not be too old,

But they treat us like adults, treat us like mould.

Like a plague in their calander, wasting their time,

Because the must mark our essays, and read our rhyme.

Its a funny thing though, when you get payed to teach,

And we would get detentions if we tried to preach,

What we really think about these places,

But instead we fall on our loosened laces.

They say C's get degrees, you can still learn a lot

But the second you don't get awards, they throw you in a pot.

To join the crowd of the broken hearted,

Because nobody cared to be kindhearted.

We need to learn to accept them all,

The academics and the ones who are trying not to fall.

How about we learn to be free,

And let children be children, no if's, but's or pleases'.
