Several weeks of training, struggling, and innovating later, the time of the final exam had finally come. Starting with the written exam, it went as what anyone would predict.

Luca's breath was restless as he kept writing answers. His head fuming to the point hot air was exuding from him. Even he couldn't hear the murmurs from the students around him.

After the grueling written exam, it was finally time for the sparring match and the first battle was Luca against Marie.

"I wish you luck, Luca", Madeline said.

"Good luck dude, don't die out there", Vale said as he chuckled.

"That's not really reassuring, but thank you", Luca said as he put on his gloves.

"Don't you think you should at least use a weapon?", Madeline asked.

"If I had more time, maybe, but oh well", He answered as he stepped on the ring.

On the battlefield, a barrier was erected around the examinees.

[That's probably the school's core that Vale mentioned, pretty neat not gonna lie]

"BOTH FIGHTERS! ARE YOU READY?", Miss Grealina shouted.

Luca readied his stance. Both fighters nodded.

"BEGIN!"

In an instant, around Marie were 6 different coloured magic circles that were spewing up different types of blasts.

Luca's eyes widened and he started to run. He stumbled a bit and used "Gust" to cover his fall.

[IS SHE TRYING TO KILL ME?!!"], he thought as he used "Light Foot" on his legs and propelled himself continuously with a mix of fire and wind magic. Even so, he barely managed to escape her spells.

Luca kept his eyes on her.

[Seriously, she doesn't even need to see where I am to hit me], He thought as he managed to jump and roll to evade one "Fire blast". As he stepped forward, he saw below him "Spikes of Earth" emerging, trying to trap him.

He opened his palms, two different complexes of magic circle were formed, He clapped both of his hands and shot below, propelling him forwards, closer to Marie.

Several magic circles blocked his path. Luca opened his palms again, another two sets of different magic circles formed, white and red respectively.

[PLEASE WORK!]

He clapped his hands and a bright flame had blinded the whole battlefield.

Opening her eyes, Marie could only see Mist around her.

She then noticed shadows and blasted with several "Flame Spears", however no contact had been made. She looked around, noticing more shadows.

She then noticed several stones on the floor.

On the edge of her eye, she noticed Luca was closing in, holding his neck. She flicked her finger up and created Ice spikes.

Luca held his neck and in front of his mouth was a green magic circle. Luca shouted, shattering the ice, exploding the stones below, and causing Marie to almost lose her balance.

[CAN'T BELIEVE THAT WORKED!]

Suddenly, she casted "Tornado", causing the mist to dissipate, and distancing the both of them.

"WOAH!", Luca said as he blasted "Gust" below him to soften his landing.

[I was close, but I guess that's what I should expect from a genius], He thought as he smiled.

Luca then looked at her and noticed a...smile?

[What's she smiling about?]

Several small magic circles suddenly formed around Luca. Luca gasped and his eyes widened.

[You've...got to be kidding me"]

Several fireballs were blasted at him.

Suddenly from the explosion, Luca emerged and flew to the sky, looking down at her and oddly with a smile on his face.
