A war between humanity and demons. A tale as old as time. 

Both sides believed they were fighting for what was best for their people. 

Amidst this endless conflict, a guild was formed. Among its founding members, Conch Lucious, was a warrior famed for defeating two of the Four Demon General single-handedly. 

Alongside him stood a family of adventurers whose only wish was to save their cursed younger son. They have been fighting and searching for years to find the cure yet nothing came fruitful. Until one day...

"We're leaving the guild, Lucious", The father said. 

[...what?]

Conch Lucious couldn't fathom what he heard. 

"I...see, what's with the sudden decision?"

"We're sorry to bring this up so suddenly, Uncle Lucious", the eldest son said. 

"It's...fine, but can you at least tell me the reason"

Silence then filled the room. 

[...Why are they hesitating?] 

Eventually, the mother decided to speak up.

"We...have found a cure for our son"

[Really? Nice]

Lucious closed his eyes and smiled. 

"Finally, after years, you guys can become a family again"

He clapped his hands.

However, what he saw weren't expressions of those who were in joy, rather...he could see it, their doubts, their hesitation.

"Sorry, Uncle Lucious", The daughter said. 

"Sorry, Lucious", The father said. 

'What...for? If it's regarding money, I and the others will gladly help you provide-"

"We've decided to side with the demons"

"..W..hat?", he said as the smile on his face disappeared.

[...Why? What...are you guys thinking? Wait...maybe they are just-]

"We're serious, Lucious", The father said. 

Lucious's eyes widened. 

Silence filled the room.

He could hear his hasten heartbeat.

[Why...just why]

Thee mother then explained, "One of the demon general gave us the cure to our son's illness in exchange we side with her"

Lucious took a breath and sighed. 

He made a praying gesture with his hands, covering his face. 

"I...see"

"Lucious, we're-"

"Is that your final decision?", Lucious asked suddenly.

Silence then filled the room yet again. All their heartbeats were the only things that gave the room presence. 

"Yes", The father said.

Lucious sighed.

He looked him in the eye.

The father's eyes widened for those were eyes he was all too familiar with. 

A gaze he only showed to the demons he had defeated. 

"Have you considered the implications of that decision?"

No one answered.

[...seriously] 

"Y...yes", the mother said.

"I see...that means you all have decided to become the enemies of humanity" 

The four of them took a step back.

[Why didn't..]

Lucious stood up. 

"You know what that means right, Barry?"Lucious asked.

[You guys just asked for my help?]

"...What?"

"As a father, do you really think you want your family to be picked of one by one"

"...You..don't mean"

"I...as the leader of this guild have 1 mission and even you know what that is"

Barry looked down and closed his eyes.

"So...that's how it is"

Lucious nodded. 

"You should understand Lucious, if you were in our position you would do the same"

Lucious' body trembled.

[I'm...]

He closed his eyes.

[not sure] 

Regulated back his breathing.

[However...] 

He opened his eyes halfheartedly.

[This is my decision] 

Suddenly several magic circles appeared behind Lucious

All of their eyes widened. 

"Lucious, what are you-"

Suddenly several barrages of spells were shot, causing the building to shake, alerting everyone. 

Most of the people in the guild barged in the meeting room. 

"WHAT HAPPENED?", one of them asked as they saw the messy room. 

Lucious was still sitting on his seat. 

"Lucious, what happened? where did they-", another asked.

He sighed.

"The count family"

He looked at the broken roof. 

"Had decided to be humanity's enemy"
