The beast reared up and bellowed as a barrage of huge impacts struck it, and soldiers seemed to erupt from the surrounding berms and from behind the enclosed hangers to pepper the thing with small rounds.
This was something new, thought MK, this is a clear advantage over the previous situation.
MK could see them, and their trail as they arced from over the horizon down to the beast.
Missiles.
Probably being fired offshore by some battleship.
Another missile slammed into the beast with a whistle and a WHOMP explosion sound.
MK had their eyes firmly fixed on the creature as it tilted back, MK not letting a single piece of information escape their sight.
There.
The smoke from the impacts cleared and MK could see the results of the military's attempt to bring the creature down.
The small arms had absolutely no effect on the thing, and the missiles...
The missiles DID have an effect, MK could see where they had struck, and some of the pustules coating the beast had been burst.
But overall, the effect was less than MKs little sock to the jaw.
That didn't make sense, a punch doing more damage than a missile strike? Was it the mutual durability with the creature?
The thing was able to pass through stone like it was pudding, yet even with a surprise attack the creature was unable to cut MK in half.
Not that the failure was due to any skill of MK, MK was painfully aware of that, If the Infested Beast HAD been strong enough to do lethal damage MK would be dead.
But the observation got MKs planning juices flowing.
MK lowered themselves down and started silently shuffling.
The plan was simple, the military was loud and distracting, but MK was the only one that could actually do significant damage.
MK needed to let the sharp gunshots and explosions take the beasts attention, and strike hard when it was most vulnerable.
Earth is invaded by giant, nigh-invulnerable alien monsters.
To fight them, the government transfers a digitized human mind into the body of an Invader.
