Belle reads books when Ariel stalks Eric because she is so used to it. Ariel in turn doesn't even look up form her game when Belle and Beasty-boy argue.

I agree that Adam’s outburst was childish, but I also think that Belle probably could have been a titch nicer when she refused his offer the first time. That’s just my opinion though.
