Okay, so! There's a reason the posting schedule has been all over the place since my move! Firstly: it's been instant war with the new landlord, who wants to cut down the very big, very old, very beautiful tree in the yard because it... drops leaves on the neighbor's driveway. We're out here reading bylaws and shit trying to stop him, and I think we finally did, thank god!🍃 The tree lives on, as do the many bird's nests in it!
Secondly, from befriending my new neighbors I've learned that no one has lived in this house for a long long time, which explains why everything is broken! That's okay with me - I'm happy to show this place some love and make it feel like a cozy home again! But it's been a ton of work, so it's just eaten up a lot of my time. Things just keep popping up! Just this past week we discovered a chipmunk nest underneath the air conditioner, for example.🐿
I'm super grateful to my homies here who have shown up to help paint, replace outlet covers, powerwash stuff, loan us bigger cars to pick stuff up... the works! Y'all Midwest folks are so kind, truly!☺️ But yeah, it's been project after project!
That said, hopefully once we get a few major things sorted out, the posting schedule will return to some semblance of regularity! That's my goal, and I'm working towards it all the time. I super, super appreciate your patience during all this!❤️
And for anyone wondering: the chipmunks are all good! The nest is outside and they seem to be enjoying the cool air from the AC, so we're leaving 'em undisturbed and they're now just part of this household, I guess!
Holy fucking shit what tf did I just read?!!! I need to put "The Warlord is in my vents!" on a tshirt, this is going down in history as one of the best ST episodes of all time
