As mentioned, there were people that Zirc did not recognize, and one of them was a girl named Peony. She was a shy girl, but she had a temper. She was comfortable around Lyla as she was her “bff,” which meant they were inseparable. Lyla and Goose had planned to set them up, knowing that they are unlikely to get together, Zirc, the introverted, bubbly, and overly childish man-child, and the timid, shy, *There are not enough synonyms to use to describe her shyness, this girl I tell you* cranky girl that gets mad at the slightest of provocations. This time, Lyla smiled alone like the Grinch, and when Goose saw her smile, he went white and went to Zirc and kissed him on the cheek. Zirc jumped and shouted, “Oi! What are you doing? We’re close, but you have a girlfriend now, and as handsome as I may look *Ugh, he thinks he’s handsome. Blegh* I am straight”. All he could reply was: “You don't know it, but you're dead.” and he walked away wailing, but as he turned, Zirc said: “Hey, goose, who's in your way, cause I swear you sound like a car with a stuck horn! Honk! Honk!” *Zirc, my stupid, idiotic friend, you almost had his simpathy, and now you lost that too. You Idiot!* Goose, with a mad face, walked past Lyla and whispered: “Kill him”.
Lyla walked towards Peony and told her, “Zirc thinks that the book that we like sucks, and he told me so at the bookstore, and also, that's why I was late, and you had to sit outside alone”. Peony’s eyes opened wide, and you could literally hear a glass cracking when you looked at her face. Lyla stepped back and pulled Goose to the other room. She said to him, “I just unleashed Cerberus cause Zirc just made Hades and Persephone mad.” *Damn! Greek lore was dropped!!! Bite his head off thrice, Cerberus!! See what I did there? haha*. Peony went to Zirc and gently asked, “Did you criticize the book that Lyla bought at the bookstore?” Zirc denied but then did it anyway. *This guy just can't stop proving how stupid he is, can he?* Zirc started going off by saying how it was typical for girls to read romcom novels, but then continued to name a few and explained that he likes them too, but the last sentence he said, he kinda said in a high-pitched, condescending tone: “But that one, yeah I've read it but it's sooo~ cliche”. Lyla heard his reply and let out a sound, “Oof!” This was followed by Peony defending her book with passion; they started arguing, and neither of them wanted to lose. Peony then went off and mocked Zirc’s choice of comic by saying: “That comic is not just childish pictures; it's literally just guys running around fighting in tights and masks! There is literally nothing original!” Zirc was audibly offended and let off a sound like a girl who was mocked for her looks, like “Ah!” but girly, and Peony stopped and laughed and continued by explaining the irony of a man who likes comics and claims to be manly but literally sounds like a girl and continues laughing mockingly. Zirc’s face got red, not with humiliation but with anger, as he knew he was losing the argument, but he grew silent and asked how she knew the contents of the comic if she hates it so much. Peony mentions that she has read the comic, but admitted she did not like it and stopped at the second volume because the main character kept on losing. Zirc interrupted her by shouting, “HE WAS A HERO! He doesn't need to defeat the villains; he just needs to save people.”
*From here on, it's just dialog*
Peony: “But he can still win! He literally has the power of lightning! But instead he insists on annoying the villains to death, which SUPRISE SUPRISE it doesn't work!”
Zirc: “Yeah, cause he doesn't wanna kill if he can avoid it!”
Peony: “Now that I think of it, He is kinda like you. Annoying me to death with your worthless words!”
Zirc heard her comment and went silent. He admitted defeat, but not before making the same offended sound, but he made it sound deeper, more manly, I guess. The whole room erupted in laughter after hearing the heated argument, and they all mimicked the sound, even Peony did it. *Serves you right! hahaha*
